Weirdly good, nothing special but enjoyable!
Okay, its not a superbly written book. But hey, not everything written can be great, I mean look at music a lot of stuff is poor, but people listen anyway because it's entertaining! And I loved this, I thought that it really divulged Sam Fisher's persona, some people would argue about the Krav Maga teacher part, but for me that added a real emotional depth, I was heartbroken when she got shot and Sam HAD to walk away! And as usual I actually like the 1st person, switch to 3rd person idea. I'm very disappointed that they've changed author (David Michaels is a pseudonym) but hey I'll read the others anyway! :D overall, enjoyable book!

Excellent read!
I enjoyed this book even more than the previous. The book takes place very soon after the events of the first as a direct sequel with a lot of the same characters and references to the previous characters from the first Splinter Cell book. Sam and Katia’s budding romance in Opperation Barracuda is most certainly something wonderful to follow, it makes the book and Sam’s family struggle even more heartbreaking to visualize. The book is full of surprise, treachery, speedy action, slow-going romance, high tech weaponry, stealth, martial arts, gangs, guns, exotic locations, political and personal drama, and massive explosions. All these make the book very fun and easy to visualize and roll along with.A favourite book of mine so far.

A nice follow up to the first novel in the series.
Barracuda is a decent enough follow up to the original novel that both serve as prequels to the first game in the series.
