ANGRY RIVER
B**M
Bond's ability to describe life in a small village in Northern India intimately brings the book to life and fills your heart wit
It is a very moving tale of a young girl, Sita who has to battle for life when a river is flooded due to excessive rain. It is not the incident but the treatment of that incident that makes this book a masterpiece. Bond's ability to describe life in a small village in Northern India intimately brings the book to life and fills your heart with joy when Sita plants a mango tree at the same spot and learns to move on with life in spite of her immense losses. It is a celebration of life!

Awesome but Short version of the story 'Sita and the River'
About Amazon delivery- Perfect as always. But this Angry River is the short and cut version of the main story Sita amd the River. The main story is much more elaborate and few character's name is different. Ending reading Angry River you would want to like 'What happeed thereafter!', it is good in cases, but in the main story you can get the full satisfaction. And yes, just because it is not complete that does not take back the awesome simplicity and soothing nature of the story. 5 star for this is worth.

Good story and excellent typography
The book deserves 5 star for two reasons. 1.Excellent story and narration2. Font and illustrationsThis is an excellent story written in such a way that every age group can enjoy. The font size is greater than normal so that it is easier to read. From all the books, I have purchased, this is the only one I could read with such an ease. 5 star for the publishing house ( rupa publications ).The story narrates about a young girl living in an island with her grandparents. When her grandmother became ill, her grandfather had to take grandmother to hospital. So the girl had to stay alone in the Island and it was raining all over. The remaining portion of story describes about how the girl survive the flood.Read it. You won't regret.

Even i couldn't help reading it.
Ordered on the 29th night of last month.Expected on 11th but was sent by India Post on 3rd itself. The seller was also good. Its good that they use India Post (Book post)( free delivery even at a purchase of 35 Rs) so that some revenue is made by India.I bought this book for my sister for rakhi. She's in class six and she totally loved it.Read it all through even during her exams. She told me the story about a brave girl who lives on an island.I liked it. So much so that I read it too.I grew up reading Ruskin Bond's books and this was so much of innocence and nostalgia.I am happy that I bought her this one to inculcate reading habits in her, improve her english and save her intelligence and creativity from the 'stupid-idiot box'.Its a bit simplified as its co-authored by Archana. On to other Ruskin Bond's for her....

Illustrations let this edition down.
Lovely story. Beautiful cover but the illustrations really let the book down. Too black and too crude in design. However, the story makes up for it.With better, lighter illustrations this book could have really shone.

Good book 5star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Marvellous book not for only children but also for adults to learn from it. Ruskin Bond has shown very good grip over the Indian Rituals, their Thoughts and many more to discover in this book related to life's struggle. Vocabulary is light wighted and valuable which makes the reading easy and interesting. Also the black pictures says a lot about the situation in this book. It's a TINY BOOK WITH HUGE KNOWLEDGE AND DEEP THOUGHTS...
