Digital done right
Wow. 20+ years of using DJ equipment and this tops my list of favorites with just a few days of use. I've always had a strong preference for Vinyl but used many different digital interfaces while playing out. I never really liked how the software worked or how the jog wheels felt. But convenience won, I caved and bought this to use on my 600Gb+ collection of MP3s.The Traktor S4 Mk3 simply does what I want it to do and does it very well. All the inputs and outputs you need in a 4 channel mixer. All the features you want in a club style controller and then some. The only thing I would change (which is possible with software/firmware updates from NI) is how FLUX mode automatically engages with reverse mode. Not sure some of the negative reviews. I understand there may have been issues at the launch and with older operating systems. Mine worked without issues and setup was a breeze. New firmware seems to have resolved the issues. If you're not on Windows 10, suck it up, it's user error.Vinyl will always have a place in the DJ booth, but digital can offer a lot now in a smaller space. 10/10 would buy again and again.

This controller is a lot of fun, great build quality and great sound
I am an old school vinyl DJ since 1984 and decided to give this controller thing a try as I had to play in a club where they did not have turntables. It is so much fun to play with it, easy to use, great sound quality. I am loving it. If there is one thing that could be improved it is the headphone amplifier. In a Club the headphone volume is a bit low, you have to crank it up to the max and it is still not loud enough. But a simple external headphone amp will do the trick

My experience with native instruments and traktor specifically
I am 15 year Traktor user I just was reviewing the comments and let me start out by saying I have started with just using the dj software on my Mac by accident a friend installed it I was clueless about djing but love house and techno music was at Sounds factory .. discotheque .. Roxy .. vinyl … fun times .. so I would just mess around with traktor on my computer my friend was into the dj scene so I asked him to teach me how to use the software each week he would show me one thing like how to sync or wat BTM special effects fx et also looping the basics then he past way ( Marlon Djflex Santos rip ) about 15 years ago so since then I have never stopped kept learning then started to build my record/track collection after because no matter how good u are it is just a tool and if u dont play good music doesn’t matter how good u are so found my niche and it has evolved over the years so then wanted to try some hardwareI started with the Z1 then X1 then. Got the S2 then the S4 I also got the machine Mikro to messa around with … the S4 is simply amazing I purchased like 3 years ago and I still use 4-5 times a week and record my sets since I have had it .. I can’t praise this product enough I have never ever even experienced a glitch I take really good care of it I dust all the time don’t keep any drinks around it never drop it and it looks brand new and performs brand new I did have an issue wen I just upgraded to the new traktor that just came out kept on skipping like an half hour into a set took a while to figure out I tried saving my music library for traktor to access directly on my harder instead of having it on an external hard drive and then I messed around with the buffering settings and after messing around for awhile I have had no more issues again native instruments makes amazing equipment all my hardware I still have and all works like it did brand new I would take good care of it … and traktor software might be tough to learn but it is amazing advice def learn it practice practice practice but to end this comment I want to thank native instruments for making exceptional top quality products that I will continue enjoying for the rest of my life lol just wanted to share my experience .. thanx and have a good day

Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3
This controller is amazing if you use Traktor Pro... I also have my turntables connected to it, works amazing. It also comes with Traktor Pro 3, which is awesome.

Arrived damaged
Arrived damaged. Had to return and got an S3 instead. S3 had sound and level metering problems. Had to return that too. Oh well back to Pioneer rekordbox and Ill live with adjusting beatgrids, but at least no issues with Pioneer controllers and quality control.

Love Traktor great for Beginners and for Musician's looking to work with Tracks
I love Traktor. I use pionner CDJ-3000 as well and they are the best for Djing for friends or parties but when I’m alone I love playing with Traktor. I feel like I have so much control over the tracks, cutting songs loops saving them using them as remix decks… way easier on Traktor for more creative ways to make sounds and samples then if your using pionner Cdj. Pionner CDJ are the premium top of line and the only way to Dj but for making music at home I have so much fun with My Traktor S8 and now my S4, and with the addition of beatport streaming accessibility to music has become so seamless!! I wish Apple Music and Spotify would integrate with Traktor because my library’s are locked into those ecosystems

Great Piece of Gear
Amazing hardware quality. A huge upgrade from the S4MK2. This is a pro-level piece of gear with XLR outs, booth out control on top, crossfader control. I've had no problems with it so far and I've had it since November 2018; been using it multiple times every week.

Worth the upgrade
I've had the MKI MKII and now the MKIII of the Native Instruments S4 series. This has a LOT of new features but my main likes and needs as far as upgrades are as follows:- It now has XLR and RCA out with a 1/4"TRS separate monitor out with its own volume control- It now has 2 mic inputs. One 1/4"TRS and one combo 1/4"TRS/XLR- The mic and line inputs seem to be more sensitive and have a higher volume sensitivity than the last generation.- Being able to see waveformsI don't really use the haptic part of the jog wheels but they're still great jog wheels that are as accurate as ever.
