Urban-Pro Riser Handlebar

These handle bars are superb. I wasn't sure of the quality I was getting myself into when first ordering these. However when they arrived (ahead of schedule I will add) I was very pleased with the finish and quality. I had them installed on my Raleigh in minutes and they gave it a amazing look. So much so that someone decided they wanted the bike more then me just a couple weeks later. I was bummed to say the least. But still a awesome well made product.

The 25.4mm version is just the right height for adding a bit of rise to a short stem Brompton without needing a new set of shifter and brake cables. I did however need to remove the shifter/brake cable organize to fold the bike. Extra roughly 40mm of width is a nice bonus and doesn't impact rolling.

Bars look really good and the weight is within the range given. 5 Stars because they are sharp looking, light, and cheap. Just keep in mind that most bars are 4-6 inches longer than this when they are weighed so the weight savings may not be as big once cut down. They are an 1-2 inches narrower than I really wanted but I knew this before purchasing. However, they still have lots of flat area to mount grips, brakes, etc. Considerably more room than some wider bars that I have with a lower rise.

Great handlebar, fit and finish was spot on. The other buyers complaining about not actual 25.4 clamp diameter are not considering their stem might be the culprit. I applied these handlebars to three different stems and found one of the three stems to be off maybe a millimeter. Easy to quickly assume and blame the product without considering other reasons. I am happy with the width, 22" is a bit wide for me on my fixed gear. My shoulders are 42mm wide, so I trimmed 2.5" off each side. I couldn't be happier! Life's too short, go ride and be happy. These bars are a great value!!

I am very pleased with the chrome finish on the bar I purchased. The graphics are lazer etched into the aluminum, but they don't stand out much. The bar is quite thick and provide great stability on my commuter. My '88 Centurion Dave Scott has downtube shifters. I easily cut 30mm off of each side of the handlebar and still had room for grips and brake levers. **A word of caution to steel road bike riders with quill stems. The handlebar broadens to 25.4mm as it makes the first bend coming from the grip area towards the center. Because of this thickening and the radius of the "rise", I could not easily install the bar through my Nitto quill stem. With a swift whack of a rubber mallet, the bar did round the corner, but not without a few superficial scratches. I am certain the bar was designed for newer, stems where the front section is removable.

This is exactly as described in the listing. That said, make sure you measure carefully for your needs before you order because this is a very short handlebar. A full two inches shorter than the straight mountain bike bar that I am replacing. Hard to fit shifters, brakes, grips, mirrors, etc. It is a glossy black finish which you may or may not like. Seems sturdy and likely will last.

The bars taper from 31.8mm at the stem clamp to 25.4mm at the ends. This means that you'll need to make sure you have properly sized brake levers/shifters for them to function correctly. Seems small but its a real pain having to replace perfectly good levers because of this, and this information would be very simple to include in the listing. The actual bars are terrific though and I thoroughly enjoy riding with them.

I installed these on my Fuji Adventure and they look great and the sweep should help on the comfort on the trails. I've read in other places that they were too wide, but after installing the controls and grips I haven't found them to be wide. They look appropriate for their intended use. I'm not dodging traffic or trees (hopefully), so overall a great product. I haven't scratched them yet, so they appear to be very durable so far.
