The Colors of Fall: A Celebration of New England's Foliage Season

Colors of Fall lis a beaUTIFUL fall book fit for every coffee table.

Having been to see the New England autumn colors myself, and taken some (amateur) photos, I wanted a compilation of professional photos to remind me of the "oooh" and "aaah" feeling I had. This book had quite a few really nice photos, but I expected a more wide-view show of the variations of color. There were too many close-up photos of rivers & rocks with some colorful leaves; I would've preferred a grander panorama of colorful trees in different stages of the season. There was too few photos of lakes reflecting colors, for example. I wouldn't say I totally regretted buying this book - it was Okay, but it could've been better.

The format of the book was way too small to show the photos off to their best advantage. Was disappointed in the obviously poised leaves in the photo on page 23. Was extremely disappointed that the Berkshire Mountains' Mohawk Trail was not included or a photo from King Phillip's hideaway. There was so much more that could have been shown. I don't understand why an array of photos showing the brilliant colors of Fall weren't included with cover bridges, village greens, etc. It's an okay book, but had I known what it really contained, I would not have purchased it,

Both this book and the following New England book were shipped to me in the UK. Both arrived before due date and were in exceptional condition. Books were gifts from friends in the States. Very pleased with all round service.

This book brings me back to the north east. It is very relaxing to flip through the pages of photos.

I was very dissapointed in this book. I am from New England and I thought this book would contain ideas for new locations to photograph foliage. There is almost no text of interest and the photographs are lacking. A few of them were nice but none of them blew me away.

Beautiful book

My wife and I spent 3 weeks in New England this Fall (2010) driving nearly 4000 miles. We visited and drove through the following States: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and New York State and took plenty of photographs, good ones at that. In addition to our photographs we decided, because the scenery was so stunning, we would like a book that would encapsulate the whole of New England in the Fall and this was the book we bought. Based on our personal experience during our tour we can say that this book accurately reflects that which we saw and truly encapsulates all that is best about New England at this time of year. We were primarily after a book containing landscape photography. This book "ticks all the boxes". Its not a huge volume but the spectacular scenery illustrated will either inspire you to visit this part of the States or give you an excellent memento of your visit. It is worth noting that the Authors live in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This is quoted from inside the the flyleaf cover, ".....more than 75 full colour photographs highlight spectacular scenery from the Berkshires of Massachusetts, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the forested wilds of northern Maine. In addition, the Monkmans provide regional maps highlighting their recommendations for the most scenic New England routes to travel during foliage season." So this would be an ideal book to buy either before you leave or after you return.

We visited New England to see the fall colours. Strangely we not able to find a nice book with with fall colour scenery while we there. I also discovered it is surprisingly difficult to take really good photos yourself. ( It turns out that you need some "foreground" in the photo to give it some depth ) So I bought this book to supplement to my own photos There is a good collection of a variety of different scenes and it provides a useful addition to our memories at a very reasonable price

The book did not contain the images I was looking for, disappointed with the product.

Such a beautiful and colourful book. I went to New England in the Fall and on my return, looked on Amazon for such a book and was thrilled to find exactly what I wanted

Very disappointing - poor quality, dull images.Also very small, not worth £14.99. Returning for a refund.
