Review: A good book which makes a fast read just like the champion - The world would have lost on the phenomenon of lightning Bolt but for the following few reasons. First, credits to his teachers, mentors, father who guided his steps to track and field rather than cricket which was his other passion. Second, credits to his doctor for taking care of his persistent back problem named scoliosis and his coach for giving him the proper training schedule to get him into shape and last but not least, the grace of God in his miraculous escape in a freak car accident just after coming to limelight in the 2008 Olympics. But as fortune would have it, everything came together and made the Legend that he is today. Any athlete would have faded into oblivion with such a painful back but not Usain, who persisted and proved to the world the stuff he is made off. More than the trainings, it is the mindset of the champion that overcame all the odds to reach the pinnacle. His records of 9.58 in 100 m and 19.19 in 200 m, would have been much better but for his relaxing attitude at the close of the dash. He admits and he is a poor starter to come out of the blocks, but still he managed to push past the other top athletes of his time, and still had time to relax before reaching the finishing line. HE wanted to be known as the fastest man on the earth and he achieved and he didn’t mind losing these milliseconds to himself and not to others. Having said that, his climb to the top was not without doubts in his ability which at times crop, but only to be put away by his coach or by his own underlying champions attitude. But it was never easy for him and he really sweated for it as well. As a person, he was good at heart, and had a down to earth attitude in spite of his greatness. May be that’s what true champions are made of. A good book which makes a fast read just like the champion Review: Fun read - Must read autobiography of greatest sprinter ever. Lots of interesting stories from Bolt's life.

Great book
Good read could have been more inclusive of training methods used by Usain...book mostly includes his thought process but not training methodology.

Thrilling read
A real page turner and very easy to read. Usain details his struggles with training and how he persevered inspite of health issues. Interesting to read that he was an accidental 100m sprinter motivated by not having to train for 400m if he did the 100m. He has an uncanny ability to rise to the great occasion be it Beijing 2008 or London 2012 ( this book was written before Rio 2016). Also aside from sprinting the reader gets an insight into Usain's personality - while being competitive very supportive of his fellow Jamaican sprinters. A thrilling book written by a phenomenal individual who has set the standards in sprinting.

Ordinary book of an extraordinary athlete
Bolt is undoubtly an extraordinary and definately the best athlete and sprinter. The book is full of his childhood and younger years along with his landmark wins in various events. I however was not happy with the way author has put together the words and makes it seem so ordinary. Bolt deserves better writing style for his unmatchable achievements.

Great
It's so cool. Motivational especially for atheletes.... There were times I laughed reading some paragraphs.... I thought autobiographies would be boring but Usain Bolt's is exceptional... And also the quality is good .... No complaints!

Slow, yet fast.
Usain's rise to athletic stardom is indeed an inspiring read. The book details the many untold pains and sacrifices an athlete goes through to win that race against the clock. Loved the casual and simple way in which the book is written. Once you are done reading this book, you will never look at an athlete the same way. A new found respect to all athletes.

I enjoyed reading this autobiography by Jamaican athlete and Olympic champion Usain Bolt. His success has been achieved through good coaching and his own hard efforts. He talks about his injuries and underlying medical condition Scoliosis which has plagued him over the years, but which has never held him back from being the fastest man in the world. A good read and a very interesting man. The book includes an appendix on his personal bests and world records. Published by Harper Sport in 2013 290 pages with colour photographs.

Loved the detail of prep for each of the races! It's good to know that Usain was clean throughout his career!A good role model to the up and coming stars!

I purchased this book for my 10 yr old daughter who is a sprinter and she wanted to write her own review. "This book is a wonderful book to read. It is interesting , great , and enjoyable." I haven't read it myself but she has told me about parts of the book that have encouraged her through her rough patches. Once she realized that Bolt too had rough patches and was able to emerge victorious she was happy to keep trying. She was even lucky enough to meet Bolt and have him sign her book so this book is an absolute keeper.
