Works Fine With Windows & Linux Devices Thruough My KVM Switch
I bought this to replace a failed USB to PS/2 adapter I'd had for ages. I was aware that not all splitters work with some kit and can be problematic with KVM switches too so I was a little apprehensive when I bought this having done quite a bit of searching on Amazon to pick what I hoped would work ok without paying silly money. Thankfully it turned out to be a good buy and so far it has worked with every piece of kit I've tried using with it so far running different Operating Systems - Windows 10 / 11 and Linux - all through an aging PS/2 with VGA KVM switch. The USB 'A' connecting plug is larger than a standard USB plug in order for it to contain the required circuitry to enable it to function correctly and do the conversion from USB to PS/2. However it is not huge and only protrudes a but further out from whichever USB 'A' port used compared to an ordginairy connector. The two cables connecting the female PS/2 connectors are around 8cm long to gives enough flexibility to distance them away from the the connnected device. Overall a very well made neat little splitter that seems to do the job well for a reasonable price.

Works perectly on new pc build. No driver install required.
Have a very nice 20+ year old Microsoft Internet keyboard with numerous function buttons. Play, next track, volume etc. However it seems nothing like it is available now? So using this adapter, I have connected this old ps2 keyboard to a new pc and everything works perfectly. It was a new pc build, so keyboard has to work without loading drivers etc. And it did! it just works. Fantastic.

Functionally works, but physical connections have issues
My use case was connecting an old Cherry keyboard which I have used for decades and now want to move over to a new PC which has no PS/2 support (I didnโt test via KVM). Functionally this seems to work. All keys are mapped to the UK equivalent and match up correctly. Accent/foreign language key combinations work, such as Shift + , c = รง, Ctrl + โ e = รฉ, etc. ASCII code input also works, e.g. Alt + 0128 = โฌ (Euro) I didnโt notice any input lag, which some have mentioned This isnโt a problem-free product though. I tested this on 2 PS/2 keyboards and on one I couldnโt even plug it in at all because the central plastic block within the connector (keyboard end) was larger than the hole in the adaptor. It just physically cannot connect together. This same keyboard, fits perfectly into a PS/2 slot in the backplate of multiple PCs without any issues. On the second keyboard, it did connect to the adaptor and slot together (purple to purple) but the connection is extremely weak. Just lightly touching it with your hand and they come apart. The adaptor and keyboard cable would need taping together or something to prevent them coming apart by accident. Luckily the green end on the adaptor fitted better and I was able to leave the keyboard connected to that. It seems to work fine even though Iโm connecting purple to green. After plugging in and out the keyboard which does fit a few times, the slots in the adaptor end seemed to widen slightly. So maybe it is just left over plastic from manufacturer that is making the hole too small? But even after doing this, neither adaptor connection end allows my second keyboard to connect. The central slot hole in the adaptor is just too small and smaller than is found in PC back plate I/O sockets. I have provided an image to visually show the differences side-by-side.

Worked instantly with 1997 keyboard
I'm not technically-minded and wasn't sure if this lead had the right interface for my very old IBM KB-8923 keyboard from 1997. I connected the keyboard and my 2026 HP desktop and it worked without any intervention from me. Easy-peasy.

works for the keyboard, not for the mouse

It didn't work for me, but it might work for some people
I wanted to connect a Toshiba laptop to an Aten KVM switch (CS-84A) so I could control it with the same keyboard and mouse as my old PS2 desktop PCs. Via the KVM it didn't work at all, and trying to connect keyboard and mouse directly the mouse seemed to work but it looked like the keyboard was outputting an endless stream of some key code or other. It may well work for other people, but it seems there's more to connecting a USB laptop to a PS2 KVM switch than meets the eye. I finally found the YACSEJAO adapter which seems to work.
