Easy and Engaging ESL Activities and Mini-Books for Every Classroom: Teaching tips, games, and mini-books for building basic English vocabulary!

A really useful book when teaching beginners ESL! The practical advice is handy and the activities are fun (at least so far) for the kids. Would definitely recommend to anyone starting to teach ESL and/or for foreigners who are moving to the USA with young children.

To introduce English as a Second Language, this text is very simple and easy to be understood by children. Exercises where pictures to convey meaning, which will enable people to grasp the basics of English and its spelling.

Not used as it is - Americanism is not what we need over here. So i had to adapt some of it, but all in all, great ideas that have been good to me as a practitioner.

As I'd never taught children, the best part was page 17. It has some games with index cards that elementary school teachers probably know already. Great value for the price, really. Be advised that the book is designed for elementary school teachers (not English teachers) that live in the US and have to teach and welcome foreign students who don't speak English

Tiene pocas actividades.Viene con una introducción de unas 8 páginas con ideas para trabajar en clase (no lo he leído entero así que no puedo opinar mucho sobre ello). Todo en inglés.Mas bien dirigido para alumnos de 1º o 2º de Primaria.Tiene ejercicios para trabajar la moneda pero se hacen con dólares americanos.Trabaja contenidos como las formas, los colores, los números, las horas, entre otros.Además tiene un apartado que se llama "living in the USA" que para mi ha sido completamente inútil porque sé que no lo voy a usar: trabajan brevemente cosas como los estados, la bandera, etc.Se pueden salvar algunos dibujos para hacer pósters y algunas fichas, pero no lo volvería a comprar.

Trabaja conceptos muy básicos del inglés, para empezar desde cero o refrescar conocimientos. Es muy americano.

Großartige und verständlich geschriebene Einstiegsliteratur zum Thema. Es werden fachlich fundierte Anregungen für den eigenen Unterricht gegeben, ferner sind fertige Arbeitsbögen enthalten (allerdings auf die USA bezogen, Vorsicht ist also hier geboten).

Attività varie adatte dalla classe terza della scuola primaria. Utile strumento per consolidare e integrare con attività divertenti e stimolanti.

Ce livre ne me sert que de cale-porte, je n'ai jamais pu l'utiliser.Les sujets sont sans grand intérêt pour les collégiens, les illustrations sont horribles. Je suis très déçue et ne le recommanderais pas. Bien sûr, il pourra peut-être convenir à certains enseignants; mais pas à ceux qui travaillent en collège, même pour les débutants.

I have just started teaching ESL and I was looking for new ideas for my classes. I was disappointed with this book and found it gave me very few new ideas that I could utilise.

Great resource!

Livre très orienté école, pour l'enseignement en pays anglophone. L'intérêt pour apprendre à la maison est donc moins évident car il est fait pour faire de l'anglais en groupe.
