Century GF2024 Resilient Base Split Phase Electric Motor, 115 VAC, 5.4 A, 1/4 hp, 1725 rpm

In days long ago, one could easily find motors for all kinds of applications at hardware stores and S**rs. Now it's very difficult to find them. Prices at specialty stores, even like North**n Hydraulics, can be preposterous. Amazon made it possible to replace my attic fan motor at a reasonable price. Wiring it was simple and it bolted right up to the fan motor mount. It seems to work perfectly. It's a plus that the motor wasn't built in China!

I ordered this motor as a replacement for my 40 year old attic fan and was pleased that it fit well . It's a bit tricky to attach the electric wires. I also had to reverse the direction which took a bit of trial and error, but it is now working better than the original motor.

Before installing the motor in a 4' vent fan, I ran it on my work bench for an hour. I notice it ran rather hot in the beginning particularly on the bearing away from the drive side. I lubricated both sides several times and after about 2 hours of no load running things did cool down a bit and I can easily turn the shaft by hand. It's been in service several days now and is working fine.

Not a Century or AO Smith motor, it's a cheap NBK motor that I've never heard of. No where on the description or page does it say this is a knock off of a Century motor. I would have returned it but I really need to get our restroom exhaust fan back up and running.

A very good motor for the price. You have to pay close attention to how it is internally wired, especially on a blower application for forced air furnace. I would imagine top or bottom draft should determine this. I installed it as it came and would not move air ( not correct rotation of squirrel cage. Removed it and reversed red and black inside and off to the races, works great.

I purchased this particular motor because it was the closest I could find to it's replacement. Only the new one was slightly less hp 1/4 vs 1/3. When I say close they were almost exact.....i took the power cord off the original and the wiring was identical......the holes on the base lined up perfectly......all in all it took literally 15 minutes to replace. The motor is relatively quiet....well a lot quieter than the original. I'm very happy with this purchase. Why not a perfect score? Well funny you should ask. The screws that held the plate in place (plate that covered the wiring) were screwed in so tight it was impossible to unscrew them! Flat head screwdriver.....wd-40......pliers......small pipe wrench......nothing unstuck them! Eventually I chose to just break off the plate. Other than that little snafu I would definitely recommend this motor.

I purchased this motor to finish building my rock trim saw. It was vert easy to install and works as described. It is a quality product, works great and runs very quiet.

Hard to find furnace motors locally these days. My old motor was starting to go last winter, so I got a used motor from a friend a couple of weeks before getting this one, but that one seized. I was really happy to find this one on Amazon and available for Prime 2-day shipping. It's starting to get cold at night now, and daytime temperatures are dropping so my furnace needs to go periodically now to keep my house at a comfortable temperature, so I needed to get a new motor fast. Installation was easy, had my furnace up and running again in a matter of minutes. Looks absolutely nothing like the one shown here on Amazon, that's a good thing though, the one pictured here looks like a cheaply rebuilt one that has been in a furnace for years already. The one pictured is also double the RPM and 1/3 HP, not the same as what it is listed at. Picture is generic, ignore it. Not like appearance really matters much, the only time I'll see it is when I need to service the furnace filter and lubricate the motor. Worth mentioning though. Photo included for reference.

My nearly 50 year old blower motor called it quits recently and this replacement motor was perfect for the job. I had to reverse the polarity to make it spin in the opposite direction and that was easy to do with the instructions and quick disconnect connectors. It came with the base as well, installation was a snap. It runs smoothly and quietly.
