GREAT LANCER- BUT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST and BUY MORE DRUMS AT THE START!!!
FIRST-Don't Waste the FIRST DRUM, It was my own fault. I did not read first as honestly I thought how hard could this be? It is just a lancer. But this one is different. You do not buy lancers individually. I couldn't see how you load them. THEY ARE INVISIBLE. So I put in the first drum and started clicking around. IF YOU ADVANCE THE LANCERS FROM SIX DOWN TO ONE, YOU REACH A POINT WHERE THE DRUM CLICKS AND LOCKS. YOU CAN'T RESET IT AFTER YOUR DRY RUN!!!! THE ONLY RECOURSE IS REPLACE THE "DRUM!" The drum comes loaded with little 6 little lancers, and there is no loading, then arming the fire button, and click to fire. Instead you press the gizmo against a finger and press the rear plunger. And it automatically fires the lancer. ONE CLICK! and PAINLESS. YAY.Now the PRO side of this is easy. When you get used to not pressing a loading button, it is just one click. Second the lancers are easy on the fingers. Third you don't have a pack of individual lancers to put in a net zipper pocket and twist off and mount. Fourth the drums install easy. Fifth the advance button is a slide type and you go from six, meaning six to go, counting down to one. After one, the slide goes back to 6 the drum pops out a red line to say it is locked and will not fire. So you do not save old lancers. Finally, there are no protruding lancers to stick you inadvertently. They are all held inside the drum. The CON side is simple. The directions are on a huge paper like 14x18. But you better read them. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. HA.

Convenient
I guess since it's something I HAVE to use, I can go ahead and review this for those that aren't sure about going this way. I've had diabetes for over 38 years now and have used all kinds of products. This is by far one of the more convenient things I have used to go along with monitoring things. It is so much easier to use this pen and drop in a lancet drum than to change it out every single time and you never see or risk touching the sterile part of the sharps, NEVER! It is also adjustable for the depth of how far you need the lancet to prick your finger or wherever you need to stick for blood. I bought through Amazon because that's where I find the best prices and convenience. My insurance will pay for the single use lancets, and the pen that goes with those, but I just go ahead and pay for these, it's SOOO WORTH IT to me!!!!

A game changer! No mess, no fuss, and no pain!
This is a game changer. Lancet devices are always an improvement over just using a lancet. But, you still have to load one, open it, use it, pull it out, dispose of it in a sharps container, etc. Time consuming. And, they hurt. Even if just a little bit, it still hurts.Enter the FastClix. I didn't believe the wonderful reviews, but thought it had to be better than what I'm doing, and I was SO right. I should have believed them, though. It's wonderful! You simply pull off the end of device and push home a barrel of lancets. Put the top back on, and you are ready!I use a 1.5 depth, and seriously it feels like it just touches my finger. I often think, "Oh, I must not have hit it." But, I have and I've got blood for a sample. With absolutely NO pain. I test, then advance the trigger to the next lancet, and I'm ready to go for the next time. No fuss, no muss. When I've tested thru 6 lancets, I simply take off the top, pull the barrel out and toss it. There are NO sharp edges, so you don't even have to use a sharp's container. I already have one, so I just toss it in there for convenience. But, you would not have to do so.A word of warning: these do NOT work with the MultiClix, apparently. My pharmacist warned me about that when I went to pick up a refill for these. Also, check with your insurance, some of them will pay for lancing devices/lancets. They probably won't pay the full amount, but every little bit helps, right?!

Fiance says it's nearly painless! Update Dec 2017 - Now I have one for myself!
My fiance was diagnosed with diabetes a couple years ago. Ever since, he has had LOTS of trouble checking his blood glucose - he couldn't stand the pain from lancing his fingers, and it would take him 10 minutes to work up to it. (And I've seen this man use an Xacto knife on an ingrown toenail, so he's no hipster crybaby!) What that ultimately meant was that he would check his blood sugar regularly for about 3 weeks, and then he'd stop because he didn't want to deal with the pain. I did some reading, and read that a LOT of people recommended the older model MultiClix or the newer FastClix. Compared to some of the other drum systems, they weren't expensive at all! So, without telling my fiance, I placed an order for this lancing device and a box of 100 lancets. When the box showed up (I was out of town) I told him that it was for him, and that he should open it and try it. I told him all the good stuff I'd read, and all the tips, and said that if he didn't like it, he could throw it out and I wouldn't be offended at all... but that I wanted and needed him to keep checking his blood sugar, because the last thing I needed was for him to get sicker because he didn't want to test. A couple hours later, he texted me with, "I love you. I barely felt it at all."Since then, he's been using it regularly, and has told almost ANYONE he knows who tests their glucose regularly about the FastClix. This will definitely be a regular purchase for us from now on.Update: In the last couple months, I've been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, and was told I needed to start checking my blood sugar 4x a day until after I give birth. Since I was diagnosed at 16 weeks, that meant 5+ months of checking my blood sugar. I didn't want to get super involved, so I just picked up some inexpensive disposable lancing devices, and have been using them for the last 8 weeks. It was painful, but not bad I didn't think. Well, I got tired of buying them (and I still have 3+ months to go!!) so I decided to buy a FastClix for myself, since the Amazon deal was amazing. I tried it last night for the first time, with my depth set to 1. I didn't feel squat, not even pressure, so I thought for sure it hadn't gone deep enough... but my husband said, "Just check to see if it drew blood." I'll be darned, I drew a drop of blood easily!!!I wish I could give this 10 stars, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Scam - box opens and wrong product inside
Extremely upset to notice box was opened and there was a 'softclix' inside a 'FastClix' box. Need this device for my son's T1 Diabetes and I have boxes of the lancets. Cannot use this product and I would not trust it with the box opened anyway. All around a waste of money!
