In the diagram it shows only 2 wires for the input, are these the two hot (110) wires, if so where do I connect a neutral or ground?

Yes, the input is the 2 lines from a 220 breaker, so 2, 110v lines. I mounted mine in an enclosure with a nema l14-30 outlet. Neutral is not used, but I did run a ground to the standard ground prong of the l14-30 outlet, from the ground bar in my breaker panel. The ground is attached to the motor housing on the other end. With an l14-30 plug on my motor, I run my 3 phase drill press with an l14-30 extension cord. My l14-30 outlet has the 3 hots from the converter and ground, instead of the normal 2 hots, ground, and neutral.

do you make one to be used on a 1/2 hp?

This item is worked at 1/2HP AC motor. 2. The input/output voltage of our phase converter is 200v~240v. 3. The voltage of motor should be 200v~240v. If the voltage of your motor is 380v or 440v, you have to change the motor wire to 200v~240v purpose to connect with output of our phase converter. 4. This item should be used as one converter per one motor. Multiple motors are not allowed. 5. The thickness of wires should be suitable for ampere. 6. Only single phase motor brake is allowed.(Three phase motor brake is not working at our phase converter) 7. You could check three phase on the output of phase converter when your motor is running. 8. If your motor has magnetic starter, or electronic switch, or brake, the operating wires of this device should be connected on “U” and “W” of output of our phase converter. Thus, if your motor is not running well or the motor is reversing, you should turn off the power immediately and you have to switch the wires on output(U, V, W) of our phase converter. Actually, when you connect the wires from output of phase converter to your motor, you could succeed in first time, or second time, or third time. 9. We will be appreciated if you could inform us what is horsepower(HP) and ampere of your motor and what kind of your machine. And then, we could give you our advice purpose to your convenience. Hello, I would like to use 2 of these for synchronize testing to parallel. Just for bench testing other equipment. Can they adjust volts out ?

Great solution for converting 3 phase equipment to single phase

Actually purchased two (different) versions of this unit, the second was for a smaller motor. Our mill had two different motors (one for the head and one for a table drive). Using these converters we were able to maintain all of the original switched (two speeds plus reversing) without having to do a lot of (to me) complicated rewiring. Just be sure to buy the right size for your (or each) motor!

Works as it should

I wired in my 3 phase 220v 1HP Bridgeport mill into it and it seems to work flawlessly. I'm leaving 4 stars because I believe the price is about $20 too high. All in all it works good.

Very cool and affordable way to run 3 phase motors on single phase power

This phase shifter is great for running 3 phase motors on single phase power. It’s important to note that these devices cannot run 3 phase resistive loads as it doesn’t produce real 3 phase power.
