This last spring we had a disastrous flood under our house. This resulted in a $4,000 replacement of our ducting system. I have since purchased under-the-house water sensors, a sump pump, and these downspout extenders to drain water away from the foundation. So far, we have had a half dozen rain storms and no water under the house. I was surprised at how easy these extenders installed and how well the twist ties held the extenders to the downspout. As soon as the rain starts the water easily unrolls the extender and drains it at least 10 feet away from the house.In some cases the extender goes across a sidewalk. My initial concern was a trip hazard. This is not really a problem with these things, because after the rain storm they deflate to an almost completely flat surface. As others have said, I wish they rolled themselves back up after the rain, because we were recently away for two weeks, and one of the extenders was allowed to sit on the grass for that time causing a yellow patch due to lack of sunlight. So, I have a ritual of hand rolling each of them back to the downspout, and they dutifully wait for the next rainstorm to roll back out and do their job of expelling water at a safe distance.So, for now, these are a great cheap temporary solution. I am already planning for next summer's project of digging up the lawn and tunneling under sidewalks to install a more permanent diversion drain, but for now, so far, problem solved.

The only problem is the wind which moves it all over and you have to roll it back up.Does exactly what it says will do

The rolls are sturdy and strong hopefully they will last. Need to be unrolled so they don’t get stuck when draining rain water

While the product works as advertised. The description says qty. 3. There is only one 12' roll. $20 for 1 roll? I've been had!

These were easy to install. Thicker than what I expected. Thicker than a trash bag. And have managed to work even though the wind whips them around and I do drive over it, every day for the last month

Easy to install but did not work at all.Don't think they will roll back after use.We threw them away after 1 week...do not buy !

I have used these for many years. Yes, they have to be replaced every few years, but they are worth the money and work very well.

It did what it was supposed to do - diverted and slowed the flow of water coming out of the downspout. Not much more can be said. However, if someone were to invent one of these that would roll itself up after the rain it would sell like crazy!

These rolled out perfectly and were easy to roll right back up. So far great purchase. My husband loved them

Thin plastic, no weight to it. Doesn't "automatically" roll out. Don't waste your money.

Comes 3 in a pkg which is nice. Definitely works but plastic likely won't last for more than one year. Our older models had a plastic spool that rolled out back up. These have to be hand rolled. If you live where it rains frequently this would be very annoying!

Little pricey but nice to have a backup as they don't last forever
