Updated review! This is THE best VR system. Its HTC wife. Out of the world
For those in India who are unable to decide whether to go for HTC Vive, though thousands are already enjoying abroad, here's my authentic review after having owned Playstation VR for a month and then buying HTC vive in India, 2 months ago.The packing by cloudtail was good. Delivery was very fast. Local amazon.in courier boy delayed by 1 day.Hardware quality is premium. The headset is a bit front heavy compared to PSVR but as I bought an HTC vive deluxe audio strap it balanced the headset perfectly and made grip on head more firm. The glasses are not touching spects even with minimum eyerelief setting.Setup of Base stations was easy if one sees videos and read manuals thoroughly beforehand. Do spend on 7 feet studio light stands and ball mount pair for base stations available on amazon.in for rs 2.4k. This keeps setup very portable. ...can take to any room in a jiffy. Base stations are heart of tracking in vive. Use ceiling cable management sys to prevent cord disturbing your experience, and screen guards for headset lenses.Downloading Vive and steam software was manageable though I had a tough time repeatedly trying logging in to these sites by HTC account......some website glitch. Free games quickly downloaded and were working.Rooms scale VR setup was fun. Can repeat as often as one wants esp if base stations' position is changed.Played the Blue, Everest VR, Richie's plank exp, Lab, Giza Pyramid VR, roller coaster.Bought MSI GT73VR 7RF titan pro with GTX 1080 for this HTC wife! This itself is a beast...the best gaming laptop you can have! It scores 11.5 on Steam VR test!AND the VR EXPERIENCES. ......way ahead of playstation VR. State of the art tracking of your head and controllers. Even <1 cm is tracked. Very smooth graphics...no lags, judder, image breaks. So smooth is tracking and so low is image shift latency that THERE IS NO MOTION SICKNESS or nausea. No headaches after an hour. I and wife did have nausea and headache with playstation VR. The level of immersion will take you to another world. You won't come out, even with poorly made games. You can walk around in Room scale....subtle chaperone grid warns you, unlike PSVR where image vanishes with little turning movement. No significant blurring in periphery if interpupillary distance is adjusted (61mm for me). Forget about screen door effect. No humming of base stations heard. Ensure one is b and one is c. Bluetooth can control them. I have not tried connecting smartphone to receive my messages etc.during play. Facility is available.Yet to try front camera for Augmented VR experience.Controllers are a technological marvel and battery life is good. Please don't criticise such a wonderful premium VR system for its price. It's worth much more. And is incomparable with cheaper things. Experience it somewhere before judging or commenting.UPDATED feedback on HTC vive India service SUPPORT once I encounterd problems.... After few days of wonderful play the Steam VR home page started freezing and games stopped loading. After 2 weeks of struggle, including reloading the Steam and viveport softwares, I solved this instantly by uninstalling Kaspersky. Strong antivirus prevents game exe files from opening and considers their copyprotect files as a malware. Later we smoothly played Ghost town mine ride (excellent), discovering space, temple of Apsara, Grand canyon VR, Realities, Spiderman etc..During this struggle HTC vive tech support team assisted a lot, were very concerned and were constantly in touch. However, the solutions viz. Deleting temp files, cache, etc. did not work out. Both Steam support and HTC vive India extended suggestions based on an easily generated self diagnosis report. They are yet to tell which antivirus to install, though my Windows defender is doing a good job presently. Not using the gaming laptop for other jobs.Small day to day glitches in the HTC vive can be solved by restarting the system.Steam and Viveport have very affordable games and vast VR game store. Viveport monthly subscription is a good idea.

One of the best VR headset selling in India
HTC Vive is the best VR.But then VR games are in general not that great.Currently, they are not matured enough.Vive cost is huge. Also to drive this you will need a powerful PC.If you still want to experience VR then go ahead and buy this.thought if given a chance I would wait for a few generations.Having said that the price should have been 30 K then it might have made sense to buy this.

It is awesome
I had a old card and I had to upgrade it to make it work, the video card itself is 40K and then this vive is also too expensive. I think it is 799.00 in USA and if you convert that into INR it should not be this high, there is atleast 40K Indian custom duty to be paid which is just too much to bear.Overall the Vive is the best product in the market today. I had no choice but to buy it because I am a Developer and I see this as a good opportunity. If you want the consumer product we should wait until the Standalone Headsets come to India, that will be by HTC, Lenovo, DELL, Acer, HP and many other companies will be coming with less expensive sets, this is just the beginning. By the end of 2018 we should see the same headset for 10K INR but what to do until then?So far the experience was very good, if you have the money just buy it.I could not download the Himalyan Game because it was 11gb and Airtel was not letting me download the huge game, Richie Plank the free game that came with it is very good and it is lot of fun.Mars expedition and Google Earth VR is the best, there are lots of games coming out and it will be great.Since it is available in India the power adapters are all ready for 220 V, if you import it then it will be for 110V, so I don't know if the 40K extra money to the customs duty was worth it?over all great product and the HTC product support guys were also quite helpful and they helped me use the coupon for the free games that with the product. You need a good graphics card, atleast 1070GTX Nvidia or more, make sure you have a big power supply, make sure if you have connected the game machine to the UPS it can handle high wattage. You should know computer hardware and video cards to set it up.If you have correct desktop machine it will work, if you just have a laptop make sure it is I7 with the latest 1080 mobile nvidia card. More than the CPU the GPU card is more important.Overall I like it so far and I do recommend it for out of the world experience. Also keep in mind the prices will fall for similar products from Microsoft partners to 15K INR but it will be Jan 2019 this is my hypothesis but God only knows the future, all the best and have fun.

Product Failure - One of the devices never connects with the hardware
Purchase the HTC Vive 2 weeks back (Rs. 69000) Poor service support. Trying to resolve the issue for the past 2 weeks since it was delivered. Only based on the recommendation provided in the HTC site I purchased DELL Alienware laptop (Rs. 2.7 lakhs). Now the HTC guys blames it on the laptop for the malfunction and can't provide a proper solution..Worst experience ever.
