Review: Monsgeek m1 v5 TMR - Amazing, tons of features, premium build, satisfying typing at a great price. - Monsgeek m1 V5 TMR. I'm never been big on keyboards, but I do play a lot of PC games. This blows everything I have used so far out of the water. The feel of it, the sound it makes is satisfying yet not too loud or obnoxious or too clicky (especially while playing games). I can't imagine it feeling any better honestly. The software is good, works well enough for me although a little bit buggy sometimes. The analogue key features did make a noticeable difference for me in responsiveness in my games, but do require tweaking to get right. It feels very premium The only gripes I have with it is how heavy it is and how high it sits. I feel like I am reaching for keys a little bit more than my previous low profile keyboard and I tend to move my keyboard around my desk a lot so it's weight makes that slightly annoying but not all that bad. This is largely also a preference thing that a keyboard wrist wrest and more getting used to will fix. I was also a little bit worried about how it comes with south facing lettering on the keycaps, however once I had it set up I can see the lettering perfectly fine as I am sitting in front of the keyboard and not directly on top of it after all. I can't figure out how to save specific RGB settings to different layers through the software as it won't let me select different layers to adjust the RGB settings in the web driver or desktop application but I could be doing something wrong or maybe there is some sort of driver conflict. Amazing especially for it's price.
Review: Absolutely brilliant keyboard, I only have one minor gripe. - I'm going to start this review by clarifying that my only keyboard experiences throughout my whole life have only been on keyboards with membrane, scissor switch membrane, and buckling spring switches. I think that's important to note because this is my first premium keyboard, so I literally think that this is the best thing since sliced bread. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the box, it's heavy. But when I opened the box, the keyboard was much more compact than I expected. Four pounds starts to feel like a lot when the thing weighing four pounds is this small. It feels really really dense, and I love that. With its weight and its good rubber feet, this thing is NOT going to slide across my desk, no matter what. Lighter keyboards are much much easier to slide around or bump around on accident. I also have a 2.1 computer speaker system with a subwoofer, so bassy music made my old Razer keyboard slide around a little bit. That obviously isn't a problem at all anymore, since this thing weighs as much as some of my rifles and has more traction than drag radials on a track. The next thing that caught me off guard was the switches, they're incredibly smooth! I don't have any experience with mechanical switches, or good switches in general, so I can't compare them. But I am absolutely in love with how these magnetic switches feel. Typing or playing games with this keyboard is an absolute dream. I know this keyboard will accept mechanical switches, but I don't think I'm going to get any because I'm already loving the way these feel. Keyboard enthusiasts seem to love the sound of mechanical switches, but this keyboard with these switches sounds absolutely stellar as is. Especially since I replaced the key caps. I got new key caps just because I wanted ones with a cool design on them, the sound upgrade was an accident. Speaking of key caps, the ones that come with the keyboard are alright. But getting good quality, double shot PBT keycaps was definitely the move. The upgrade in looks, feel, and sound was definitely worth the extra money. I made sure to get side printed keycaps to match the ones that come with the keyboard, since I like the way it looks. And it does come in handy when putting a keyboard on an elevated surface, like a flight yoke. The CNC aluminum case is obviously responsible for the weight, but it's also responsible for the incredible rigidity. There is absolutely zero flex to this keyboard, none whatsoever. I feel like I could use this thing to break open a bank vault with brute force and fight my way out of the bank with it, without damaging the keyboard. I like how I can easily remove the top part of the case for easier cleaning, repair, and modification. The fit and finish for the two halves of the case is excellent. I'm used to 100% keyboards, but I never used all those extra keys. Moving to a 60% keyboard that fits on top of my flight yoke much better was a good idea. The only thing I had to get used to was the positioning of the HOME, END PGUP, and PGDN keys, which took no time at all. I really like the way MonsGeek set up this keyboard. The keys aren't too close together like on some keyboards, but they still did a good job making it compact. It is really easy to use this keyboard. The knob is great, it's super tactile and clicky. It feels like it's also made out of aluminum. It's nice to finally kave a keyboard with some amount of media controls. I only use wired keyboards and mice since I don't like managing batteries. That being said, I do like that this keyboard will connect to my computer either wired or wirelessly. I think it's weird that you kave to remove the CAPS key to access the mode switch, but it doesn't bother me any since I just set it and forget it. Now for the cons. I'm used to keyboards having adjustable feet, but this one doesn't. It doesn't bother me at all since this keyboard already sits at the perfect angle for me, but it's something worth considering. The actual con is the software. This likely won't matter to anyone else since the problem stems from me using Linux, but it does matter to me. The web app used to adjust the keyboard's settings will not work on Fedora Linux no matter what I try. There is third party, open source software available that will let ypu customize this keyboard. But that software is out of date and won't recognize the TMR flags and will only recognize HE flags. That means I can still customize lighting effects and colors, but not anything that has to do with the switches like SOCD or RT. The software issue isn't that big of a deal since all I had to do was take the keyboard to work and use a Wind🤮ws workstation to use the web app. Thanks to onboard memory, once I save the profile in the software, I can use that keyboard on any computer and it retains its saved settings. Overall, 9/10. Please take the five minutes to make your software work on Linux, it's not that hard.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Buy this board and customize it to your liking you will not regret it!
*by H***. on June 28, 2026*

Love this keyboard. I did swap the switches to gateron magnetic jade pros, and put on some new keycaps (double shot pbt cherries). The default sounds fine but i wanted something a little different. You'll be very happy if you get this, and leave it as is, but being a tmr board you have so much freedom to make it your own so don't be afraid to do so. The case is a tank it feels very premium. The wireless dongle works incredibly. So much better than razers "hyperspeed" dongles. The only gripe I have is the software is far from great, but it's manageable enough to set it and leave it. The rgb is also gorgeous on this board. If you want something that feels premium and offers creative freedom you need to buy this board. I've owned multiple razer and steelseries keyboards. This is much better quality than any of their premium options. It's heavy and durable, sounds great out the box, has great rgb lighting, and you have the freedom of magnetic or mechanical switches to adjust the sound and feel exactly to your liking.
