Stop Thumb Sucking Ages 2-7 - The Hand Stopper (2-Pack)

Wouldn't recommend. Didn't help at all. My child still managed to stick their fingers in their mouth with it on. Also, was a painful experience for both child and myself to put the things on. All in all they are a nightmare.

Absolutely worth it. It's not up to the child to be motivated all the time, or in control all the time. This will get them through without any backslide. We were able to switch from using it during the day almost immediately. My daughter (Almost 3) was not interested in quitting. If she sucked during the day we would put these on. She very quickly stopped sucking during the day. We kept them on at night for 3 weeks. It's been over a month now without needing to use them at all. She's now quite proud of herself for stopping, even though she never wanted to stop in the first place. There were some nights that she cried when we put them on. We just stayed consistent. Worked like a dream.

El producto no me ayudó con mi hijo. Se desgastó el Velcro a los 20 días de usarlo y ya no puede ocuparlo. Me fue mal, ya que compre 2 piezas y en las 2 paso lo mismo. Algo que tampoco me gustó es que el Velcro es muy grueso y cuándo mi hijo quiere abrazarnos nos raspa, pasa lo mismo cuándo va abrazar un niño lastima, y no puede convivir con otros niños por miedo a que salgan lastimados alejandolo de convivir.

We have had these for months now. I’ve been very consistent putting these on my son every time he lays down, which is when he sucks his thumb. They do cut down his thumb sucking severity, but he can still get his thumb to his mouth pretty easily & won’t stop. I think for $90 they should actually have cut the habit by now. For the fact that they help reduce a little, they might be worth it to some people, but for the price, it’s disappointing.

It says that it's normal for the child to still be able to reach and suck their fingers but will get over that in a few days. We're on week 2 and my 3yo still goes for her fingers. I would say this product is about 80% effective. It seems like breaking the habit is going to be a long road for us and I don't blame the product for it. My biggest complaint about the product is that the velcro is sharp and scratches me a ton. I have scratches on my face, hands, and arms from my toddler wearing this. It makes it difficult for her to be around my newborn because I', worried it'll scratch the baby. I'd recommend the maker to add stitching around the velcros so it's not so scratchy. My toddler also gets itchy from having this product on. Whenever I take it off, she goes ham on her elbows and scratches like crazy and makes me feel so bad for making her keep it on all the time. I will say though, that my girl doesn't mind having it on when it is. She's still able to do her day to day activities only with a stiff arm. I get a lot of looks and people asking me if there's something wrong with her arm because it looks like she broke her arms lol. I hope this all pays off sooner rather than later!
