LUOUSE Classy Vintage Audrey Hepburn Style 1950's Rockabilly Swing Evening Dress

I bought this dress in the purple color in size Small. I normally wear an XS/0 in clothing and the Small in this dress was a perfect fit. For reference, I am 33-25-33. There was plenty of room in the bust to wear a strapless bra, which was nice, but not necessary because it is well-lined and fits close enough to be supportive if you are not large busted. I am 5'4 and the dress hit just at the bottom of my knee-cap, which was perfect. I really liked this dress overall and am sure I will get a lot of wear out of it. However, there were also a few significant things that I didn't like but am willing to overlook because of the low price.The Pros:The purple color is a beautiful plum shade, not too bright.The nipped in waist is super flattering.It arrived much faster than the estimated time (approx. one week).It is a nice lightweight material, perfect for summer.The Cons:The zipper is of horrible quality. It appears to be plastic, not metal, and it gets stuck where it meets the defined waistband in both places (regardless of whether I am actually wearing the dress). I made it run somewhat smoother using the classic "pencil lead trick" but it is still a bit of a pain to zip up and down.There are no care instructions on the inner tag and also no details about the materials. None. It simply says, "Made in China." Therefore, I will assume dry-clean, which is expensive.This dress wrinkles very easily (and I hate to iron).Overall, I really like this dress, but it is definitely not worth more than the $29.99 I paid for it. It came in an e-packet straight from China. In all honesty, the reason I bought it is because I fell in love with a dress that was 100% identical in appearance on a certain well-known vintage-style website, but it was $89.99 there. I realize now that this dress is a knock-off of that dress and you do get what you pay for. That said, I plan to also order this same dress from Amazon in the blue because I love the look of this dress and I can get both colors for less (albeit lesser quality) than the original dress I fell in love with elsewhere. I hope this helps someone else of vintage tastes and modest budget:-).

This really is a well made wrap. The cut is lovely. The stitching is clean. The material is nice, not cheap or thin. As mentioned by others, there are no fasteners on this dress. But a review from another gave me the idea to put a tie on the inside wrap, and a hook and eye on the outer wrap. It does run a tad small. But since I knew this, I went up a size. I'm 5'5.'' I usually wear a 10/12 in pants, but my top size is all over the place as I'm a 36GG. Even ordering up, this dress will not adequately cover my breasts. But simply layering a cami underneath makes it wearable. And depending on the occasion, I could probably just wear a really pretty bra that peeked out. My only real issue is that the belt is not long enough to make a really pretty bow, so I have to use a square knot instead. (Pictured with petticoat underneath.)

If you like the rockabilly or the pinup look them, this dress is for you super silky, very warm in the winter time out and extremely warm in the summertime. I highly recommend this product if you like doing photo shoots, or just like to look cute that I wouldn’t say that this is a dress for every day or all day, where as it becomes extremely warm as the material is a silk material. I really like how easy it is to put on takeoff and how comfortable it is I wish that the material was sweat resistant because when you wear this product with deodorant, you see deodorant stains on the dress which isn’t attractive overall you to get your bang for your buck most dresses like these go upwards of $80 at antique stores for authentic pinup presses super cute great material, easy people to deal with for purchasing.

This dress is cute, but the fabric is a shiney, wrinkly mess, and the belt will clearly crack after a few uses (cheap vinyl). I ordered based on my measurements, and it barely zips. I'll have to wait until I lose a bit more weight to comfortably wear it. The darts are the main problem, as the dress is not shaped to accomodate breats larger than a small B-cup, even in the larger sizes. Washing it did nothing to get rid of the wrinkles, and I'm afraid to iron it, given the fabric type. Once it fits, though, I'll still enjoy wearing it, as I do love the print. It's not worth it for me to return it; I'd rather wait for it to fit, but if I wasn't already in the process of slimming down, I would have to switch this for a larger size.

I didn't go into this purchase with high expectations, so for me to say that this dress far exceeded my expectations isn't necessarily saying much. With that in mind, I am perfectly aware that I'm a bigger girl (dress size 20) and was terrified of looking like a beached whale wearing polka dots.This dress fits like a dream, is decent fabric (not the super best quality ever but also not as thin and "awful" as I've seen reviews for) and is comfortable enough to wear for an entire day at work or a full evening out. I immediately ordered the same dress in black and another by the same company in a different style. All of them are in the regular rotation of my wardrobe now, and I feel pretty in them.Points to be aware of: My copious cleavage was handled just fine in the dress. If you're a big girl with a smaller chest, this might not be the style for you - check out the buttoned ones with smaller dots, because this dress would likely gap uncomfortably.The stretch fabric in the back is lovely, but I had to adjust it from time to time when moving a lot.With a shrug, this dress is perfect for office work and then you can remove the shrug and go to a dinner party! It's awesome! Perfect for pinup styles.All in all, I'd say grab this dress - at this price, the quality can't be beat!
