OtterBoxDefender Replacement Belt Clip Holster for iPhone5, 5s, and 5c

My kids talked me into a smartphone, finally (a few years back). And I had trouble finding an adequate clip case. My daughter (27) mentioned OtterBox was really, really good and showed me how hers worked and I fell in love. The biggest problem I've had with it is if you're losing weight, it will tend to pull your pants down. But I LOVE being able to clip it on to my pants while I'm shopping or out and about. Also, depending on the pants I'm wearing, if they're a bit large, I'll clip it to the cart when I'm shopping. I did actually forget my phone ONCE but remembered before I even out of the parking lot. Thankfully, the phone was still there.Now with that being said, I think I could see where if you took it in and out of the case frequently, you might be able to break it if you were really rough with it. The new one has a rotating clip, which is nice when you're obsessive about having the phone face a certain direction, you can rotate the clip, but I could see again if you're too rough...I remember on my old phone I leaned up against a metal barred gate because I was waiting for a bus and forgot the phone was on my back, I cracked the phone, the case was fine! I've dropped it a few times and never broken it. But if I had to buy it again, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD!

I purchased this hoping that it would be as good as my Griffin Survivor case. It is every much so, and better. I have dropped my phone a bunch of times and has absolutely no signs of wear. My work environment is exceptionally dusty and can be hard on cases, or can work its way into the case. So far, 3 months in, I am seeing no signs of dust inside the case, despite the holes for the speaker, mic, camera, and earpiece. The clip is quite adequate, but a little fragile. I have broken one, but I cannot fault the clip itself. I accidentally walked into the extension arms of a table saw. Multiple times. The bonus of this case vs the Survivor is that the clip is available for purchase without having to buy a complete new case.I would recommend this to my Mother! Yep, to my own mother.Even though it is not as slim or streamline as other cases, or the phone itself, it does exactly as said, protecting the phone in harsh conditions, against drops, against snow/water, and general abuse. I am a convert to OtterBox from Griffin, and will most likely buy one for my iPad.

They hold the iPhone very well, but the belt clip can break if you drop the empty case on the floor. That is the ONLY problem I have ever had with the belt clip. If you get a different iPhone, and get a OtterBox Defender case for it, do NOT leave the store without buying/ordering a replacement belt clip

I would bash this harder but the fact is I can't find any case that can stand up to abuse. I have realized I just have to order 3 at a time, they are disposable items, kind of like cheap razors. Not much to say, it fit my otter box defender perfectly. Works fine for awhile, then the thing that clips the phone busts off. Obvious design flaw. Tried a Kiko case that fit the defender encased phone, lasted a day then fell apart. Your best bet is to just wear cargo pants and keep the phone in the thigh pocket. The clips and cases break getting in and out of cars, climbing ladders, bending over and even sitting in a recliner. The slightest pressure twists this clip and others into landfill items. I would pay dearly for a phone clip or holster that would stand up to working man use.

My husband works doing manual labor and his Original case was 6 years old and had done the job well. I was just worn out and the phone would not stay clipped in. This is a replacement and was just as the original one we had. It is a fantastic product for protecting your phone from everyday manual labor physical abuse.

This belt clip holder has an unexpected feature that my original one lacked ... the clip will stay open turning the holder into a sort of iPhone tripod. I found that out by accident, when I opened the clip "too far" and it didn't want to close. I nearly broke the clip trying to force it to close, before noticing a simple way to get it to release. So don't force it to close or you will be buying another one ;-)

Great product! Have the convenience of your iPhone near you without it being in your pocket! It also provides added protection in case you drop your iphone.
