OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 Protective Case for iPhone( Not for iPhone 5C or 5S) - Pink

I have a lot of family and friends who have the defender but I did a ton of research while waiting for my iPhone 5 to arrive. I am a daycare provider with three children of my own and a a permanent case of the dropsies. I knew I needed some serious protection for my iPhone but didn't want something too bulky to put in my pocket. I looked at the life proof case but was concerned by the mixed reviews - a case that claims to be waterproof but won't guarantee my phone if it gets wet - no thanks. My husband has a speck candyshell on his iPhone 4S and he likes it but it has a hard outer shell which is too slippery for me. I debated getting the Otterbox Commuter but again didnt like the idea of the slippery outer shell. I decided to try the Defender and it is perfect!! It doesn't add as much bulk as previous models. The outer shell has a rubbery grip that helps me keep it in my hand but I was happy to find that it is very firm rubber and slips easily in and out of my pocket. I love that it has the plastic cover on the screen - I am always tossing my phone in my purse then digging around and throwing stuff on top of it - my old phone was all scratched up and i had to keep putting new stick on screen protectors but I don't have to worry about that with my defender. My concern with the plastic screen cover was that the touch screen wouldn't be as sensitive but i honestly don't even notice its there!! my screen is just as responsive as my husbands with the stick on screen protector. I also worried that having to open and close the tabs to access the ports would be an annoyance but its not at all and after my husband got dust in his plug in port and had to clean it out so it would charge I was happy to have my ports covered! And yes I still manage to drop my phone a few times a week (permanent case of the dropsies) but it still works perfectly and has no damage to the phone or case!!

After I got my iPhone 5, I was extremely paranoid about breaking it because a lot of my friends had huge cracks on their iPhones- I was a first time iPhone user so I didn't want to ruin it. I searched for a few months for a case (I was using a lame plastic case before) and I came across this product on Amazon. It sounded protective but after reading all of the reviews about how it was bulky and heavy, I thought maybe I shouldn't get it. I debated over the Commuter and Defender for the longest time until I finally chose the Defender.I am so glad I did! The case is amazing! I've dropped it multiple times and it's gotten banged around quite a bit in my bag but of course there's no damage. It's the perfect case, to be honest. Because of all the layers, there's no doubt my phone will be safe in it. And actually, it's not very bulky at all! It fits in my pocket without a problem and while it may be a tad bit heavier than other people's iPhones, it's not like a brick at all.This case gave me confidence about using my new phone. I literally take it everywhere without any worry. It's technically not waterproof but I bet if you dropped it in water, it would be safe because it's such a protective, thick case.Now, I will warn you about a few things:1) It's extremely difficult to take off (but why would you want to, to be honest?)2) The screen protector sometimes collects dirt under it (but other than that, it's an incredible part of the case)3) If you play with it, which I do, it will start to have little pieces fall off4) The color does kind of fade but I've had mine more than a year and it's barely fadedBut those are the only things, I promise! If you buy this case, you'll have made the best choice you could ever make. You'll never crack or break your phone again.Seriously, I recommend it!

I've never owned an Otterbox before but after recently spilling liquid on my iPhone 4 and having to upgrade to an iPhone 5, I decided I better do a good job protecting my purchase this time around. Although I know that the Defender series Otterbox isn't intended to be waterproof/spillproof, it is certainly a considerable upgrade from a typical hard plastic case.As a new user, I found it extremely easy to install and it appears to be very protective so far, though I haven't had major drops or other incidents yet. I have not experienced any sliding inside the case as other reviewers have noted - it is an excellent fit. I do agree with those who say that the protective covers make it a bit more difficult to plug in the lighting cable and access the vibration switch, but this is an easy thing to live with. A possible dealbreaker for me, though, is that I find it VERY difficult to press the home button. I think everyone has to judge this issue on their own and weigh its importance. I was concerned about the integrated clear protective screen making the phone less responsive to touch, but I'm honestly not noticing any problems there.This a great deal at $17 (versus $50 for the same item at the ATT store!)from Casemate2000. Despite that, I'm not a fan of the bulk this case adds to the phone or the way it detracts from the iPhone's attractiveness. It comes down to this: this case will work for you if protection is your greatest concern, not appearance. If you're unwilling or uncertain about giving up aesthetics and some minor ease of use issues for the sake of protective peace of mind, I doubt this case is for you. As for me, I'm still deciding. But for those who are sure that protection is the ultimate goal, I highly recommend the Otterbox.

My phone certainly feels protected in this. it is built to a very high standard.the phone fits into a hard shell with a rubber surround, it fits well and i am very pleased with it. if i have one criticism it is that once in the case it is hard to pull the upper and lower screens down on the iPhone 5 with a sweep of your fingers, the lower screen activates the torch , wifi etc.the upper the calender. If the case surround was 2 or 3mm taller for the sceen opening you wouldn't have to dig your finger into the edge of the case a couple of times before you can bring the screen up. if you have bigger fingers you will really struggle. but still a great case

Perfect for mi iPhone 5. It's one thing show off your phone but one is drops it gone! This keeps mine as purchased and enables me to re-sell at a good price - what more can a practical person need?

best phone cases if waht to protect the phone and the screen ,and not to bulky bort for wife and she loves it ( says can see it in the hand bag with being Pink)

And that product arrived on time but unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality of the product. i found this item to be very plasticky and not as good quality as my previous case.

I loves this cover!!! It's so great it really protects the phone! It has it's own plastic cover so no need for screen protectors !! Although I do have one!It's easy to put on once you know how! The pink bit comes apart the. You open the white cover and that's it!I recommend it !!!
