This device is a supported device for Vonage VOIP service connecting to an analog phone. I've only used Skype on a computer with a camera and microphone. **Q: Does this require a wired connection to the network or does it support a wireless connection too?** A: No wireless support, you need a physical ethernet cable. **Q: Can i power this from a 12v dc battery by running a cable directly from a usb port that the battery powers to the micro-usb socket on this device?** A: You could use a car-type 12v to 5v usb adapter.
