The numbers ensure you have the same size nail on each hand. That fact is primarily why I only have 2 stars. These nails are longer than most "natural" looking nails but they have stayed on with no issues. The product is well made and the adhesive does its job. ### ⭐⭐ ... nails I've tried these had to be some the worst. They did not go on evenly, leaving air bubbles clearly visible underneath. They were also still pretty long/large for being sold as "short length". I had to use all the smallest sizes for once manicure, when I was hoping to get at least 2 manicures out of this set. Once they were on they didn't last more than a few days before breaking and popping off.
