This is a very good quality thread lock compound. It lubricates the threads for assembly but doesn’t take long for it to set and lock the threads. Just understand that the application cannot be undone without a high heat torch. The price was better than I saw at the auto parts store. I used this thread lock on the studs that thread into the crankshaft where the flywheel and outdrive coupler attach with flare nuts. Whoever put together the boat engine originally didn’t use thread lock as the studs slowly loosened and some actually fell out. Not wanting to pull the engine out again, I throughly tested the installed studs with a torch and a pair of vice grips to make sure the engine heat would not compromised the thread lock. I heated up the studs to about 300 degrees. I could not budge the studs at all. Perfect!
