Now, if you apply a light coat then wipe it off I would say yes. For example, I bought a new riding lawnmower so I heavily sprayed all the metal on the thing. I'm sure there is a level of protection but the thing is it collects dust and dirt terribly and the dirt is difficult to remove as the spray when applied heavy stays tacky. I just bought a honda Rancher but am brain storming what to spray on it to protect it. I live in NW WISCONSIN and years ago sprayed my snow blower. We get snow here and after a year if snow blowing I can still feel the tacky boshield on the metal as i did not do a light spray and wipe off.
