I was able to rekey five locks and there enough pins left to do 10 more. The first one was challenging and it would be nice if this kit had the special wrench to remove the end cap. Once I figured that out, it was pretty simple. The locksmith wanted $30 each to do this. I think it was a great bargain and I learned a new trick. It would have been easier if I didn’t have giant bear paws for hands. So, if I can do it; you can do it.

Was much, much easier to use than I expected. I watched a video first, bought this kit because it seemed complete. It is. Except for tweezers, but I have a lot of those Comes with a metal tool I didn't need, the follower (VERY important), and a b*ttload of pins in labeled bags. Fun trick: the code for the pins is actually written on the key, so it's pretty simple to just make the right lock. If that fails the kit also comes with a little gauge to measure a key and tell the pin numbers directly. I redid my first tumbler in like 2 minutes, piece of cake. It's more work getting the locks apart, than actually repining. Awesome kit, highly recommended. Way cheaper than paying some dude to fix one lock, much less the 50 you could hit with this setup

Undertook a project to rekey all my exterior doors to one key. Can be very complicated as not all the handles and locks were the same model. Patience is required and paying attention to detail. All the parts are there, and work well once installed.

Have a few locks in my house with different keys and wanted to rekey them to fit the same key. Did my first one yesterday (a door knob). As many reviews point out the plastic tool (follower bar) doesn't really fit the mechanism but I fixed the issue by making the gap wider with a file in less than a minute. I also messed up and disassembled the cylinder before reading the instructions so the top pins and springs fell out, but I was able to not lose any and put them all back in. One complaint I have is that the kit does not have any replacement strings (does have top pins though). Other than that everything worked great, I measured the existing key with a gauge and put the appropriate pins in and after I put it back together it just worked. Saved probably a hundred bucks or so plus got a great deal of satisfaction that I was able to pull this off. Highly recommend!

Bought this as a beginner kit for rekeying Schlege C keyway locks. works well for that! If you want to do master keying, you will need to get a different kit, or add master pins separately, but for "one key" operation this worked well. Only 2 issues that you should know. 1: The "removal tool" that is included is for Kwikset locks, no real use with the Schlege locks that I have found. 2: The top pins included are only one size. Schlege uses 3 different sizes of top pin and none of those are the same size as the ones in this kit. I can only assume that, since this seller also sells a Kwikset set, there is some crossover here. That being said, I still gave it 5 stars as, if you are rekeying an existing lockset, you likely can use the old top pins and springs anyway, and the tool, while not helpful for Schlege lock, isn't a hindrance either. Price is reasonable and a $3 Harbor freight storage box fits it nicely
