I’m a return customer for this Hot Tools curling iron. However, this latest iron has developed a sticky handle. I’ve tried to get it off to no avail. The only thing I can think of to cause this problem is hair spray. But to have a curling iron and hair spray in the same space area should be considered in the manufacturing of this product. If anyone has a suggestion on how to remove the stickiness, I’d appreciate lt.

I've always bought Hot Tools with the gold barrel, but after reading the description I thought I'd try this. At first, i didn't like the 'grab' of the black barrel, but I've gotten used to it. I love the timed shut off, because I have always been 'bad' at leaving it on. I took tips for the reviews about the VERY long cord and left a good portion of it coiled. Overall, I'm really pleased with the product.

I liked the 3/4 inch barrel but it’s made out of cheaper metal which I noticed right away. With every day use on fine hair it still could not stop from bending on the thumb mechanism which caused it to become so weakened and comprised that it isn’t possible to use it anymore so I threw it away today. I have the 1nch barrel hot tools curling iron as well and that one is made out of a much stronger metal. I paid $100 for this curling iron and it’s the first time in my life after 35 years of curling my hair that one ever broke. It’s also the most expensive curling iron I ever paid for. Don’t buy it . 3/4 inch barrel thumb mechanism is too thin of a metal to withstand normal use, it will bend on you too. I’m going to look for a revlon or conair curling iron. Hot tools is not better or magical because it’s over priced. For $100 I expected this curling iron to last for years and years. Needless to say I am disappointed.

The function of this curly iron is awesome… The best that I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately, the court is absurdly long. It gets in the way a lot and it’s just more to wrap and store. Would I buy this again? Most likely because the curling iron itself is really really awesome.

Heats up quick, temp is adjustable so I don't fry my hair, long cord means I'm not hunching over the vanity. Update: after consistent use, I'm finding the clamp lever where you press to open the clamp from the barrel is bending. This is concerning because the metal bending will weaken the clamp, and eventually break. It still functions well for now, I will update as that changes
