Nice starter to build skills.
Nice trawler, parts are laser cut and look clean... directions are so-so once you get to the rigging... same for most of the ship models, especially the ones from the 1700 to 1917 or so, when powered ships took over for Sail power.

You get what you pay for...
I guess for the price I shouldn't really complain but I'm going to anyway. I've been building ship models for years and wooden kits have gotten expensive so when I say this kit for this price I thought; how bad can it be? It'll be a fun little project between larger more involved projects....Turns out how bad it can be is pretty bad. Many of the pieces are so thin they break if you look at them wrong. And many of them don't fit together correctly. Now usually when that happens with a wooden kit you can do a little trimming, a little sanding, but not with this kit because a half dozen pieces broke when I tried to even lightly sand them to size. Lastly the directions are terrible, there's just vague diagrams and several times the pieces in the parts sheets I received didn't even match the numbers on the directions so I had to adlib. There were also parts in the sheets that weren't represented on the directions at all and didn't seem to fit anywhere.About halfway through I decided it wasn't worth the time (or the aggravation) it would take to turn this kit into anything even approaching a decent ship model so I tossed it, wrote off the cost, and moved on to a more expensive but viable kit that would actually be worth the time invested. You really do get what you pay for and in this instance what you get is junk, don't bother.

Great little boat!
A lot of the previous reviews were negative due to the parts not fitting together like a 3-D puzzle. What you need to know about this little boat model, is that it is not a 3-D puzzle! It’s a real model and it will require some fitting and filling and sanding to make it come out very nice. It will help, if you have some experience with wooden models. Also, as previously noted, the instructions are basically just pictures and they’re not super clear, but again, if you have some experience building wooden models especially boat models, you should be able to figure it out. To dress up the model, I added some commercial parts such as lights, and lifeboats, portholes etc. These vastly improved some of the provided detail parts, but they are certainly usable if that’s the way you want to go. All in all, a very enjoyable kit. I cannot say exactly how many hours it took to build it, but it certainly was not a one or two night build. It was an hour or so a night over the course of two or three weeks.

Good for learning the hobby
Be patient. Don't rush.I saw the reviews about the instructions. I would agree that the instructions are sparing, but it's not a big deal. The pictures are helpful when assembling.Pros:1. Cheap introductory product for learning2. High quality wood print. Very few laser burns on the product.3. Fun to assemble (kept me busy for several months - but I'm going slow)Cons:1. Low quality cannons that come with the product (I majorly dislike the square cannons - I plan to 3d print my cannons for better results)2. Low quality string that comes with the product - I recommend buying separate twine3. Low quality cloth for the sails4. The deck for the boat is one solid sheet of wood. There isn't much depth to the deck. I would have liked to lay the individual planks, and will look for a product with individual planks in the future.Tips:1. If you are using super glue make sure you are in a WELL ventilated area!2. Go slow.3. Sanding does miracles.*UpdateMissing parts

Missing some pieces others not as pictured in product images
Missing pieces pictured in instructions, mainly fittings for masts, cannons were not as pictured either, ended up not using them and will purchase higher quality if i think the model needs them, laser cut parts bot always cut through very well and many parts on the thicker sheet especially broke even when partially cut out from sheet, and experienced delamination of the wood as well. Higher quality balsam should have been used for planking, as ship nails would just split the boards for the gunnels and all the planks, even after a pilot hole was drilled. If you are willing and able to carve some of your own fittings its a fine place to start at the price, but i beleive many of the decl crimscrams will need replacing as i dont believe they are to scale. Not altogether unhappy so far as it was very cheap and a fun weekend project.

Don’t buy if you are a novice
Instructions are horrible! The written instructions are in Chinese. The images are just as bad (like a really bad xerox copy). And there are no instructions on how to do the outrigging. Fortunately, I’m a 26 year veteran at building wooden model boats, and was able to make lemonade out of a lemon. This kit is not for a novice.Update: Been working on this model since late January 2022. The hull planking is a nightmare, but I found a way to overcome this but only from the experience of building wooden model boats for over two decades. Even as a veteran boat builder, this kit is quite a challenge! The last picture is where I’m at right now. The second picture is a reference I found on the web of another kit of the same boat that shows more quality details. Oh, and the rigging? That’s another challenge! One thing that is good about building this boat is that it brings a serious challenge if you like challenges in wooden model boat building! To all you veterans of model boat building and want to turn a Chinese piece of junk into a treasure, this is for you!

Very small, like something you would buy from a dollar store, thin wood and instructions were all in Chinese.I returned it in time but have yet to hear back from the buyer/company or get my refund. It's been over a month.Very dissapointed. If I would give 0 stars I would

Think twice about buying this....
Terrible instructions, tiny pieces kept breaking so needed repairing and gluing, some pieces were mislabelled….
