Empero is a selective herbicide aimed at controlling nutsedge in turfgrasses and other non-crop sites without the damaging effects that other herbicides leave behind. It provides outstanding control of purple and yellow nutsedge as well as many stubborn broadleaf weeds like horsetail. Empero contains the same amount of the same active ingredient as sedgehammer. The active ingredient, Halosulfuron starts working immediately on targeted weeds by stunting their growth, ultimately resulting in death of the weeds. Complete control typically occurs within 7 to 14 days depending on the weed size, species and growing conditions. Empero comes in an easy, mess-free water dispersible granule that rapidly dissolves with low-use rates. People and pets may re-enter the area once the solutions dries.
