All the caffeine (and then some!) with NONE of the sugar!
This review is specifically for the Cola flavor, though I have had (and maybe prefer?) the Root Beer, and the Cream Soda is quite good as well. But the Cola flavor? TASTE THE LEGEND, my friends! It's smooth, flavorful, and guilt free. All the caffeine (and then some!) with NONE of the sugar! A single carb per can (once you subtract the fiber), and enough caffeine to keep me going all day. People complaining about the lack of sugar clearly haven't researched the devil's powder thoroughly enough... Sugar is poison, and you just don't need it. Now, I do wish that this product was cleaner โ there are BETTER (and natural) sugar alternatives than sucrose, which is basically just sugar that's been treated poorly in a lab. But it's better than drinking a 100+ calorie sugar-crash in a can! I recommend giving this and the other flavors a try.

Best cola flavored energy drink
Jolt cola is a classic from my childhood that stands the test of time. The flavor on this is exceptional and really refreshing. I would say the flavor is closest to a pepsi zero with a kick. Highly recommend

SURGE HAS NOTHING ON JOLT!
Jolt Cola is a carbonated soft drink launched in 1985, famous for being one of the first energy drinks with "all the sugar and twice the caffeine". After a period of bankruptcy and discontinuation, the brand was revived and relaunched as a modern energy drink by REDCON1 in 2024.The new version aims to capture a nostalgic audience while appealing to a new generation, offering more caffeine than the original and sometimes including zero-sugar options and other functional benefits.Historyย Creation: Jolt Cola was created in 1985 by C.J. Rapp and became popular as a high-caffeine soft drink.Original marketing: It was marketed towards night owls, gamers, and other night workers, emphasizing its high sugar and caffeine content.Expansion: Over time, the brand expanded to include low-calorie versions (Jolt 25) and other flavors.Discontinuation: The company faced bankruptcy in 2009, and the original Jolt Cola production eventually ceased.Brief return: The brand reappeared briefly in the late 2010s at stores like Dollar General but was discontinued again around 2019.Relaunchย New owner: The Jolt Cola brand was acquired and relaunched by the sports nutrition company REDCON1 in 2024 with the same can design!Modern energy drink: The new Jolt is marketed as a modern energy drink, not just a soda, and is positioned to compete with other brands.Increased caffeine: The new formula contains even more caffeine than the original, with one can now having \(200\) mg of caffeine, up from about \(70\) mg in the original 12-ounce can. With no jitteriness!Zero-sugar options: In addition to its classic high-sugar formula, the relaunched Jolt also offers a zero-sugar beverage.I'm buying them by the case! $19 for a 12 pack is an amazing value!

Great taste. Memories. Shipment issues.
Tastes like I remember. But too many problems with shipping and delivery and damage. I like buying by the case because itโs cheaper than the local HEB supermarket. Itโs frustrating. First order was canceled because it couldnโt be fulfilled. Second shipment the cans arrived damaged and tops dented and pushed out. Still waiting for third order. Itโs totally worth the wait. My friends and I smuggled jolt in our suitcases on our 8th grade trip to Washington DC.

It's not like the old, but it's not too bad.
I had a lot of high hopes for the new formulation of JOLT, as I am a big fan of all the iterations before it (the original double caffeine/give you a heart attack at 18 formula, the battery cans, the redone recipe from 2018-2020, etc.). After the first can, I felt disheartened because it tasted like a flatter version with not as much of the bite of the cola flavor. However, it redeemed itself in the way that it REFRESHES. It is an excellent drink to have when you're having a meal, because it helps to recover after having something that might be salty or might be a little heavy. After can #3 (not all in one day, mind you), I started realizing that this JOLT is something different than the original: This is a taste that refreshes, not a taste that winds you up. And that's a good thing nowadays. So while it's not like the old, and it doesn't have the bite of the old stuff (hence it would have gone down to 3 stars), the fact that it has a new purpose that is unintentional brings the whole back up to a 4 star.

It's back! And am I GLAD!
The flavor is very similar to the original formula, with the change of using sugarloss as a sweetener, rather than sugar. Surprisingly, it seems to have a slightly better wake up kick than I remember, which is a pleasant surprise. Seems a bit more carbonated than I remember, but not really a problem. Tried a half can that I left go flat in the fridge, (might want to consider resealable containers?) But the flavor wasn't really affected badly, just not as much fizz. Would like it if they had a sugared version, and will be trying it in mixed drinks soon. If you're a gamer, software engineer, or just have trouble staying awake when you need to, this is the drink that refershes and wakes you the *F* up!

Nostalgia in a can
So freaking good. This tastes just like I remember, but with the added benefit of being sugar free and low carb. It gives me all the nostalgic Jolt vibes without the sugar crash. If you loved the original, this is absolutely worth trying.

It's true, you can never really go back
I'm a child of the 80s and drink an energy drink every morning, so when I saw Jolt Cola was back I had to give it a try.First, let's compare value. On Amazon you can purchase 15 cans of Monster for $25. A 12 pack of Jolt Cola is $30. Jolt has 200mg of caffeine per can; compare that to 160mg for Monster (16oz) and 185 for a large coffee from McDonald's (21oz).As far as taste goes, this is not your father's (or your) old Jolt. It still has a cola taste, but it's completely different. The original Jolt's slogan was "all the sugan and twice the caffeine!" and this is sugar-free so of course it's going to taste different. It tasted like a strong Coke Zero to me.My biggest complaint was the company's packaging. The shrink wrapped 12 pack arrived inside a large box with no packing material. As a result, four of the 12 cans were smashed and all the carination was gone. One of the cans had leaked everywhere. When you're paying $2.50/can, having four of them ruined is a big deal. I should return them but I'm not going to ship a soggy cardboard box back. The other brands of energy drinks I've purchased through Amazon are less expensive, taste better, and arrive undamaged, so I think I'll stick with those. I guess it's true, you can never really go back.
