Good base for a modular gaming setup
The hardware specs are ace for the money, especially with 32gb of ddr5 ram and that ryzen 7 8845hs. It looks like aluminium, but the body is actually plastic but itโs nice size and lightweight. As a standalone device, it handles office work silently. For gaming, if youโre relying solely on the integrated graphics for latest titles, you have to drop the settings and fiddle with a few bits. Youโll need to turn off fsr and upscaling if you want to play in 2k, but at 1080p, the upscaling does the job well enough. Even framegen adds a bit of a boost. Anyway, Iโve paired this with an rtx5080 on a minisforum deg2 dock via the oculink port, and itโs a totally different beast. I knew exactly what I was doing, becasue that was the plan from the start. Fair play to Minisforum for including the oculink adapter in the box, even if it means sacrificing one m.2 slot. Offloading the heavy graphics tasks externally gives the pc some breathing room, so the internal fans aren't screaming - they are actually silent and thereโs zero overheating during long sessions. I can play my fav games, right now Iโm on star wars outlaws and I'm getting 280-300fps easy on maxed out settings at 2k. Reliability has been a highlight so far - in my daily-non-stop use it has proven itself as a stable daily driver that boots with ease, even when experimenting with alternative operating systems like bazzite or zorinOS. Connectivity is another strong suit, we got here a usb4 , dual 2.5G ethernet, hdmi2.1/ DP 1.4, thats allows versatile multi-monitor setup. I know that for the price of this pc plus the egpu and dock, I couldโve just bought a gaming desktop, but itโs much easier to replace a mini-pc in the future than it is to sell a whole desktop tower (good luck with that!) Plus, I actually quite like the messy, modular look of my gear, so Iโm happy. If you want a silent little machine with plenty of ports that transforms into a gaming beast with to usb4 and oculink, this is the right bit of kit to get. Recommended.

Powerful, silent, beautifully designed, upgradeable
I bought the barebones UM890 pro as I already had a few spare 2tb NVME drives at home. I paired it with 64gb of Kingston Fury 5600mhz RAM that I bought from a competitor, and a cheap Windows 11 Pro license from an online supplier. The item I received had an old BIOS version, which caused a few minor issues in installing Windows, as it was not simple to change the Secure Boot option to allow the Windows installation to progress. After a bit of tinkering, got the install up and running onto my 2 x 2tb drives configured in a RAID 0 array, so the system sees it as a 4tb single disk. The primary purpose of the PC is a lounge PC and to use it to play both modern demanding games as well as my very large retro game library. I am extremely impressed with the overall system performance I am getting for everything - including Call of Duty 7, Doom (The Dark Ages), and all retro emulators I have tried run without a glitch (up to RPCS3, Wii, Gamecube etc). A few tips: 1. Make sure you upgrade the BIOS to the latest version, 2. The RAID driver files are not available on the Minisforum website, a bit of googling with find them, 3. make sure you use 2 memory sticks for dual channel RAM as it makes a massive difference to GPU performance, 4. Allocate a decent amount of VRAM in the BIOS (I allocated 8gb) if you plan to game Overall, am hugely impressed with this little system - big performance, small footprint and very quiet, even when under full load.

very good but.... plese read.
the um880 is quite nice 16gig 500gig m.2 prity quick not bad at all aded a another 16 gig to 32 i had spare using linux mint but one warning there are no drivers for blutooth or wi fi on linux, i knew this before i bought it it needs to be hard wired to work on the net. if you dont need blue tooth or wif it is good, on linux. i am jst saying this to pepole to stop them buying this for linux but other than that is good. i use it for distro hopping and it works very well for that performance is good reliability i can't say i have just bought it if you use windows it is good but if you are going to use it for linux and you want blutooth and wifi look for something else. it works fine if you use the netwok. i am not knocking minisfoum i have bought a AIX! pro with 96gig ram and three 4tb m.2's. i have an ax1 and both work with wifi and blutooth out of the box. thank you

Pro performance in a mini plastic box.
Small size PC, the build quality is mostly plastic and it feels a bit lightweight on the desk, but it stays stationary enough once all the cables are plugged in. Under the hood, the hardware specs are ace. you get 32gb of ddr5 ram and a 1tb pcie 4.0 ssd, which handles 4k video edits in Premiere and heavy multitasking with no drama at all. In my use as a video workstation, the fan is dead silent, easily the quietest bit of kit Iโve used, especially compared to the beelink I had before. To do some quick upgrades (I chucked in an extra m.2 ssd for my workflow), I had to peel off the rubber feet to get to the screws. It was a bit of a faff, but theyโve included spares in the box, which nice. Performance and speed wise itโs fair play for gaming. The radeon 780m hits a solid 70-76fps on tomb raider at 1080p. Obviously, itโs not going to replace a proper gaming rig for latest titles at ultra settings lets be serious, but it can certainly hold its own against a ps4 or even a ps5 if youโre that way inclined. The oculink port is definitely a good to have for future-proofing, though you do have to sacrifice one of the two m.2 slots to use it. It has hdmi + DP so two monitors connectivity, no probs. At the end of the day, for the money, itโs a versatile, punchy little machine. Iโm happy enough to give it a 5/5. Thanks!

Avoid due to faults
Couldn't give it 0 stars. This is the second in 2 weeks, replacing one that wouldn't power on at all after 5 days, this time it worked for about the same time but now powers on but won't POST. Return to Amazon started, but as refunds take 14 days, that's over ยฃ900 tied up and nothing to show for it. When they did work, they were ideal for me, with slight graphics improvement over my i5-6500/1030 GT but in a much smaller package. Had one of them worked,.they would have got 5 stars. Have now ordered the Bosgame Gaming Mini PC 4.

Quiet, responsive and the support was excellent.
Not only is the device excellent for my needs, but when it did unfortunately fail the support team were incredibly responsive and had it fixed within a few days. I simply sent the device in and it has been sent back, good as new. Very much appreciated Minisforum!

Tiny doesn't mean slow. Well made mini
This little beauty lust flies: it's fast. And it's tiny. I bought the barebones model and added ram and storage myself. No need to buy Windows as I am a linux user. For most computer tasks the performance is more than enough for most tasks. Gamers may want the model with the separate graphics card. The fan is barely audible and definitely not an issue. Well built and excellent value for money.

Perfect for home use, multi-opened tabs, Office apps. (I'm not gaming, just regular browser work.)
I researched a fw products and used A.I. to help sort through what I needed: generally a browser-workhorse (00+ tabs open) and regular Office apps, no gaming. These mini-PCs kept popping up and seemed daunting compared to desktops and laptops, which I'm familiar with but what's the difference, really? I still just plug stuff in. I don't plan on upgrading or swamping this out for 5 years so I hoped this item will do the trick. There was one caveat that needed to be flagged โ it would run loud dring high intensity usage, ie, gaming. I'm not gaming and have never once hit the whirring fan. Very compact and installed easily, took some time, of course, and able to use Wifi and install printers on Windows 11 Home.Very basic but it worked and able to plug in two monitors. Went with the larger rmemory setup so this should last for the time span and with 500Mbps internet speed, no lag whatsoever. This seems like the perfect model for the price point compared to laptops 9no need to move it around) and small desktops (saves much more space). It's been a month and no complaints.

The mini-PC i was looking for
I looked for a mini-PC for a while; check several sites and reviews until taking the decision to go for this device. It's been working with no flaws since installed. I've got only a minor issue with the DP port as it's not recognizing the monitor then i change to USB-C and problem solved. No upgrading yet (RAM or SDD) but i checked and it will be easy it comes with a magnetic cap that allows to access the hardware. A lot of ports which I increased with a simple mini-hub. ALL works perfectly. I am giving 5 stars .... for now
