It is a light weight and powerful mower that does an excellant job with even tall grass.
When the mower arrived we were unable to charge the battery. Calls to to Cleva North America listed in the owners manual produced a series of actions that corrected the problem. We found them to be very responsive and helpful. Once we got the battery situation corrected and could use the 60V mower, it did a terrific job in knocking down the very tall grass we were faced with initially. We have just over an acre to mow and we find that it takes two to three battery charges to finish the job depending on how high the grass is. We use it on the auto setting exclusively. Both my wife and I use it and we find the adjustable handle bar height to be very useful. The grass height adjustment is the easiest to change in any lawn mower I have ever used. Overall it is a very simple mower to use. If you have a large yard I would recommend a second battery.

The battery won't last
My gas lawnmower lasted for well over 12 years and I was looking for an equally reliable battery-operated lawnmower that is lighter and storable. I purchased the LawnMaster 19 inch 60V lawnmower and had a problem almost immediately with the battery. The factory was very cooperative and sent me a new replacement for the defective lawnmower (although it was only the battery that was defective). All was working well for three months, although now the battery is acting up again. While I've attempted to contact the factory, the email connection with the Seller has expired. I hope that the factory sees this review and contacts me with a solution. I like the product, its performance, weight, storability, etc. -- but if the battery is defective, there's not much one can do with the lawnmower aside from throwing it out and replacing it with a more reliable competitive product.

You'll Forget It's An Electric Lawn Mower!
Before buying this lawn mower, I read the reviews. The word “beast” was used several times and I thought, “No electric lawn mower could work that well!” I decided to mow my lawn several times before writing this review. Okay, I stand corrected – “IT IS A BEAST!” I forgot it was an electric lawn mower. The cut is smooth and even. The mower is easy to operate and extremely maneuverable. I don’t mind the plastic decking as this makes pushing a breeze. The motor is quiet and start-up is as simple as pushing a button and pulling back on the safety bar. I have ¾ of an acre and the 60V 5.0Ah battery life is fantastic. I usually get 1½ to 1¾ hours out of one (1) charge – usually enough to finish the mowing depending on how high the grass has become. I also have a 60V 2.0Ah battery (which powers my lawn blower) which can be used to finish up. Clean-up is easy as I can use the blower to remove accumulated grass and dust. The lawn mower’s handle easily folds up – making mower storage quick and convenient. The lawn mower comes assembled and accessories are easy to unpack. I, too, had trouble with the rear discharge hinge pin as the right side was missing. It seems to be either a design flaw or production error. The flat end is inserted from the inside out and will work itself free and catch within the frame housing. I corrected the error by removing the top housing (which can be done by removing nine [9] screws) and changing the direction of both pins to “flat side out”. This correction places the pins against the out body frame and prevents it from working loose. I shouldn’t have had to do this, but it was easier than sending the whole thing back. Problem solved! The second trouble I had was that my “power adjustment” button DOES NOT WORK. I called customer service and am still waiting for a replacement to come (it’s been over a week now). I’m stuck on “AUTO” for the present time, but that power setting works for now. Finally, be careful when inserting the battery. The battery is inserted from the top and gravity should put it into place, but if you try to force it and it doesn’t lock down the first time make sure that one of the four (4) electric contacts has not been bent! This has happened more than once and I had to take some needle-nose pliers to correct the contact orientation. The guide doesn’t always line up the contacts correctly with their respective slots. Overall, after doing my research on electric lawn mowers, I’m happy with the purchase based on price, cut, design, ease of operation and battery life!

Good machine, but not sure about the battery
I received it as a gift. I have a mower that needs wires so I was very excited to get this mower. I first charged battery to full and then put the mower into work. The machine had a good power and light weighted. Because it is wireless, so it is very easy to turn and moves around. It mowed very smoothly for about 15 minutes, then the battery died. I had to take it out and waited it to cool down to recharge it to full again. This took few hours. Then I mowed the rest of the lawn for about ten minutes. So I am not sure for one full charge you can mow a regular sized lawn. Overall, the machine itself is a good design, but I am not sure about the battery. Maybe I just got a bad battery. I will try next time to see how well is the battery.

Great choice to switch from the expensive mowning services
Due to COVID-19 we have to cost down. Neighbor recommended this brand. I have received this cordless lawnmower for a week. Today I charged the battery and made a first test in my front and backyard. I like the form very much after I assembled the grass bin and the handle. It’s not a vehicle, so I don’t like the aerodynamic design on this kind of products. It’s so light weight to make a easy U turn. It’s also enough powerful at cutting grasses with relatively quietness. I tried it in my big backyard. The Bermuda grass is about 8 inches tall. It took me 30 minutes to get my yard done in the collection bin which easier to clean up. The height is easily adjusted with one hand. It is simple to turn it on. Just don’t forget insert the safety key, hold the switch button down and pull the bale switch. That's it. No more obstruction by cord or sore shoulder from pulling on the string or having to run to the gas station for fuel. We are really satisfied with this purchase!

Defective and not made well..
The battery is defective dirty and does not keep a charge. The flip where the bagger goes is missing a bolt. It was supposed to be new but too many things wrong with it. Buyer beware...

A Fine Mower, But Warranty Is No Warranty & Possible Fire Hazard
ITEM NOTE- Amazon sometimes mixes reviews between models. This is the Lawnmaster 19" 60 Volt 5 Amp Hour Battery Walk Behind Mower sold by Cleva Home Products & made by Cleva. ------ I apologize that this review does not have proper formatting. Amazon does not allow paragraphs, preferring to make reviews all one paragraph. I tried to separate with dashed lines for your reading ease. Hopefully it works---------- WARRANTY PROBLEM ONE- The mower I received was missing parts required for use & it was previously used by someone. I called the warranty number for parts. This turned out to be a 3rd party parts company which handles many brands. The person told me the mower was 3 years old and no parts are available. (To Clarify: I called 1 day after receiving this "new" mower.) I tried calling the warranty parts place back several times, at various times of the day- hoping to encounter a nicer & more helpful person. No Luck! These are the nastiest & rudest people on planet Earth. They even answer the phone rudely. Each person said the same thing: No parts are available. I next tried to call the manufacturer, Cleva. The only phone numbers the have ring into to the evil parts place. Next Step = Start a return on Amazon. Amazon told me to deal with the seller, Cleva Home Products (the manufacturer). That is Amazon's policy & I find no fault with them. Cleva Home Products never responded to my return request. I also tried e-mailing them directly. I bought the thing in May & it is now October. I've heard nothing from Cleva & received no parts. Guess I'd be out of luck were it not for a time & cost intensive work-around. (Explained below). ------------------ WARRANTY PROBLEM TWO- From what the folks in crabby land warranty service center told me, despite the claim in the warranty document, there is no labor warranty. If a part breaks, one must fix the machine his or her self. There's no place to take it for warranty work. I even called around. No luck was to be had. On the happy side, the whole mower can be taken apart & reassembled in 2 hours.------------ WARRANTY WORK-AROUND- I don't know if this will help any buyers, but one might be able to have the parts made locally. If one encounters a motor, control or circuit board problem it will be the end of the mower. Generic motors & controllers cost more than the mower and the circuit boards are epoxy encapsulated so one can not repair them. (The battery can be re-built with well priced replacement cells available on Amazon.) I have an engineering background and machine tools enough to make a Franekn-Mower out of this thing so I could at least use it (until something electrical breaks). ---------------- POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD- Grass gets sucked up into the motor compartment. When it gets dry & the motor gets hot, bad stuff will happen. At minimum, the grass will insulate the 2 circuit boards & the motor. They will overheat & be ruined. At worst, there will be a fire. After the first go-around, it now takes about 10 minutes to remove the motor cover, clean out the grass & dirt (don't forget the underside of the heatsink) and reassemble. There are 9 phillips head screws to remove, plus on spring. Not too tough, but why should we have to do this task? Being way too lazy to take it apart every time I use the mower, I put a screen on the underside, attached with Velcro type straps. This helps, but some grass still gets to the motor area. All the dirt passes the screen. Perhaps a filter would work better, but I did not want to restrict air flow. Also note that there is a foam filter inside the motor compartment that gets packed with dirt quickly. To wash it one must remove the motor cover AND the motor. The filter is glued on & will get wrecked, so buy some open cell foam about 1" thick to replace it. Hot glue will work, but I used Velcro so I can get it off & on easily. Easily? The motor still has to come out. ----------- MORE CRABBIES- The mower is advertised as 19". It has an 18" blade. The blade has offset mounting holes, so one must purchase the replacement from Cleva. But, guess what? It's obsolete. I'll buy a one-center-hole blade for a multi blade deck mower and punch the outboard holes in the shop. Amazon has many from which to choose. Oh yeah- The blade is of soft, junk steel, so it has to be sharpened very often. Taking it off is easy with a 14 mm wrench. You need thread lock compound to re-install it or the bolts will come out and get lost.------------ AND WATCH THE PRICE- I bought it for $299.00 from Cleva Home Products via Amazon in May. Over the last few months (It's October) I've seen the price change from as low as $299.00 all the way to up to $689.95 (today). Sometimes it is on Amazon more than once at more than one price- all from Cleva Home Products. The price tends to hang around $300.00. So, if it isn't $300.00, wait a day or two & the price may change.-------- NOW THE GOOD STUFF- It seems that Cleva studied mowers and got rid of most of the bad stuff & added some good features & improvements. ........ The machine is very light. I apologize that I forgot to weigh it, but a 64 year old woman picked it up handily. The body is made of ABS plastic which is the most impact resistant plastic of all. A rock did crack the rear mulch plug, but ABS is easily repaired with glue or friction welding. (Which is good since it is "obsolete".) The machine weighed in 23 pounds lighter than the most similar, steel deck competitor brand. If I had to choose between this ABS deck or a mower with a steel deck, I'd pick the ABS for its weight and anti-rust features. The ABS deck will get scratches easily from the dirt that's blow up, so grass will stick- as is the case with steel. I spray lanolin on the underside of my mowers & the grass wipes off easily. Amazon sells Fluid Film brand, but there are others- and there's always hand lotion. Warning ! Absolutely Do Not Wash Under this Mower. There are the many ventilation holes mentioned earlier which will let water into the motor & circuit board compartment. ...................The machine has 2 handles for carrying and it can be rolled like a hand truck. The unit folds to the size of the deck, so storage space is quite minimal. Setting the height is super easy since it is spring assisted. There are 7 choices. The highest leaves the lawn just under 4" & the lowest leaves it about 1-3/4". .............. Folding the handle is simple, but the clips are HDPE plastic & will break sooner or later. The mower can stand on end for storage. There are 2 height adjustments. A 5'2" person & a 6'2" person were comfortable using the mower. A 50" and 65 year old woman had no problems at all, even on the bumpy, undulating field. Self Propelled is not necessary. I'm in between and use the high position. Also note that the safety switch for handle height travels with the handle, so one can drill holes anywhere along the length of the handles for a custom position. Speaking of handles, they are kind of oval-rectangular shaped, not round. This makes them more rigid & less prone to bending. They're aluminum, so no rust worries are needed. ........................ The mower is easy to push, pull & turn thanks to light weight & the combination of large rear & small front wheels- which have rubber treads glued on and baby moon hubcaps for the classic 50's car look. ....................... Cutting was surprisingly level & even. In thick, dense stuff that isn't grass, the mower has plenty of power. The auto throttle works, but there's a time delay, so you have to back up a foot or so. Mulching is so-so. The clippings tend to be about 1 - 2" long no matter the starting height. Walking very slowly with the mower set on warp speed helps make somewhat finer cuts, but not great. Speaking of mulch, it chops leaves into tiny bits & very little escapes the mower deck. Pine cones survive unharmed. Even though not much gets launched, I still advise to keep kids & animals away, plus wearing safety glasses just in case something does get thrown. The side discharge chute sends the grass fairly far when it's set on low height, so that's great for blowing off the sidewalk. I can not test the bagging due to missing parts. The bag is nylon, so it should last. Emptying it will be the easiest of all mowers made. The handle gets folded to be vertical, thus it is 100% out of the way to remove the bag. During mowing, one can get to about 1" from a wall or fence. Long things get scooped into the mower by what Cleva calls "edge combs", but they have to be really long to get cut. ------- POWER & CONTROLS- The unit has no problems at all with very thick underbrush. It cuts where my gasoline mower would hesitate & complain. The speed control has 4 choices- Low, Medium, High & Automatic speed. On Low speed, the machine is very quiet on grass. On a pavement, it's about as loud as a 20" box fan. Low speed has no problem with good, dense grass. I have not used the Medium speed. High speed cuts very well. It's cut 1/2" diameter maple sticks. The machine is still relatively quiet on High speed. No ear protection is required (but always suggested). As mentioned earlier, the auto speed does work well once it catches up. When one is out of the dense stuff, the mower will slow back down. The controls are intuitive, which is good since I did not get a manual & there is no place to download one. There is a "Fuel Gauge" on the handle, so that's kind of handy. The battery also has a rudimentary one. It shows Green, Orange or Red lights when a button is pressed. The battery is heavy at 4 lbs 1 ounce. But, and this is a cool design feature, there is a spring eject assist to remove the battery from the mower and from the charger. The battery kind of shoots up so you can grip it well. Another, rather genius feature, that is not mentioned in the Owner's Manual is that the mulch plug and the side discharge chute can clip to either the handle's cross bar or the mower's front handle. This is handy if you switch around. For example, I mulch, but when done I like to blow off the sidewalk. I simply unclip the side discharge chute from the handle & hook it on. You do have to remove them from the handle for folding, but then one can go back on for storage. --------- BATTERY LIFE- Most people are concerned if a battery powered mower will need a back-up battery. Cutting about 3.500 square feet, I used the machine on warp speed for 47 minutes and it still had 54.25 volts left in the battery pack. Lithium batteries don't drain linearly, so it is had to say how long it would have continued. (The 3,500 square feet includes a lot of backing up & going around obstacles, as well as just, plain goofing around.) --------- WHAT OTHER BATTERY MOWERS HAVE THAT THIS ONE IS MISSING- Headlights. Huh? If I need headlights, it is not safe to mow. USB Port: Charge your phone from the mower? (I'm not making this up. One brand brags it up.) ---------SUMMARY- If Cleva had sent me a new, not second hand, mower and if they sent me the missing parts and if they had a labor warranty I'd give this 5 stars. It is very well designed, other than the grass-in-the-motor problem. The unit is easy to use and I actually enjoy cutting the lawn (but that will wear off!). So, if you want a very good mower and don't mind having to make & install parts, I'd say go for it. For 300.00, it is far superior to other brands. Best Mower - Worst Customer Service
