All our green beans are cup-tested by sample before we commit to purchase, they must meet our rigid Blue Mountain coffee standards and expectations. Just because coffee is grown in the Blue Mountains doesn't mean its good Blue Mountain coffee! We vacuum pack the beans immediately after roasting to seal in the aroma and extend the life of the coffee, maintaining freshness. Buying whole bean coffee and grinding only what is needed for each brew is definitely the best way to preserve freshness, as the aroma is trapped within the beans.

Review: Jamaican Blue Like the Old Days! - The original JBM was wild and collected by boat. There were only a few hundred pounds sold world wide and it cost a fortune. If you get JBM, it's not the original. However, I heard about some clever fellow, who cultivated those wild seeds in Jamaica so it grows in the same conditions. They used to sell this cultivated JBM in the 80's, back in the "pure" days of coffee. I bought it then and thought it was the best coffee I'd ever tasted. So I ordered a couple of pounds of this, and sure enough, it's exactly the same old delicious JBM I used to get in the 80's. You also don't need many beans. We use less than a small scoop per cup. It's still very strong, flavorful, yet seems to be smooth and succulent. It's VERY expensive, just like a world class fine wine. BTW, the cute burlap bag opens to a vacuum sealed, zip lock reusable bag, that has a one-way air valve; it only lets the air out. If you agree with my review you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, sure, it looks expensive compared to what you see on the supermarket shelves. And it is. But you're getting one of the finest coffees in the world for your money. There are only a handful of importers actually authorized to bring real Jamaican Blue Mountain into the US, and Coffee Roasters of Jamaica is one of them. Coffee Roasters of Jamaica's Blue Mountain is deeply roasted, but not burned, and unlike certain other sellers out there whom I won't mention by name, it's fresh beans, not stale. (Yes, there are other brands out there — conspicuously cheaper brands — selling stale beans with almost no flavor. Don't be tricked into thinking you're getting a bargain. You're not.) The flavor is full and rich, but not bitter. Don't skimp on the coffee; you don't want to over-extract it. It makes a great espresso, if you have a good espresso machine and a good grinder. Don't be misled by the rustic burlap bag; there's an airtight ziplock bag inside there to keep the coffee fresh.

The product was excellent. Only minor complaint was delivery. We were given a date and then it was updated to almost a week later. Then the product was delivered in just a few days. Our second order had the same problem and then it was delivered the next day. We not complaining but it was unusual.
