It’s definitely possible to teach yourself with this book as opposed to other books that are more designed for classroom use (Domigpe’s “Elementary Tagalog”). I wish there was a little more detail in the grammar explanations but you can usually figure things like the order of enclitics by the example sentences elsewhere in the text.
