Jackel 18 in. x 24 in. Perforated Sump Basin (Model: SF22A-DR) (1)

This is a great commercial grade sump pit. Very thick and heavy duty. It’s a rather large basin so be prepared to dig. I wasn’t happy with any of the sump basins the big box stores carried and I happened to stumble across this one, I would definitely recommend it.

This basin along with the optional cover is by far the best start to an effective sump pump installation. The construction is superb and although I have not installed it yet I can already see that the results will be favorable. The cover is designed to sit flush with a concrete floor and can support the weight of a 200 pound handyman. Mated with a quality pump I can rest assured that the occasional over abundance of ground water will be managed properly and quietly. Forget a 5 gallon plastic bucket and go all in on a Jackel.

We had to redo our sump pit and discovered the company who originally install the pit and basin cut corners. We had to dig it all out, jackhammer the rock they didn't deal with and replace column mold they used for a basin. It was a beastly job, but this pit, the cover and the flange (all from Amazon) have made the new system very good. The quality of the parts and the way they all fit together means this job won't have to be done again. Jackel is the brand to go with!

This is a very good basin and I'd buy it again. You'll like it if you appreciate quality. It's made of the same "structural foam" plastic that Stanley and Dewalt make their toolboxes out of, only it's around 5/16 inches thick. Only a few minor negatives: None of the drill perforations have been deburred. There are shreads of plastic surrounding all the holes on the inner side. Also, although the lid (bought separately) has 8 stainless hex bolts with which to attach, there are only 4 threaded holes on the basin. There are 8 holes in total, yes, but only 4 are threaded. You can see where 4 other steel "thread-serts" would go, but they are missing. It would be easy enough to add your own washers and nuts, but that lacks the convenience of true thread-serts, and would be truly a pain if the basin was buried at grade level. Some might feel that 4 fasteners are enough to secure the lid, but why manufacture 8 holes and then not use them?

Easy to install, well made. Definitely worth the money. I'd definitely buy again, if I need another one.

Nice heavy duty basin. Fits and functions great

There it usually not much to talk about a sump basin, unless it’s a Jackel SF22-DR basin! I have three other sumps, all have ribbed sides to give them strength but I don’t like all those crevices when maintaining them. The Jackel is so strong, it doesn’t need ribs. This is a notch above HEAVY DUTY. It’s stiffer that you can imagine. The sides are smooth as glass and the pre drilled holes are perfectly spaced. You will not regret paying a little more for the best once you experience the highest quality imaginable. Good job Jackel.
