NooElec Extruded Aluminum Enclosure Kit for HackRF One by Great Scott Gadgets (Black)

This case fits perfectly and is a great upgrade to the HackRF. It is much better than the cheesy plastic stock case. Well worth the upgrade, I would recommend this product to others.

First off, the case is solid as heck and very lightweight. It didn't fit the first HackRF board I put in but, luckily, I have two. Both of my boards are unofficial builds but from different sources so, if you have a non-Great-Scott board, you will be rolling the dice. Not taking a point off for that because, no matter how well the case is built, they can't possibly fit every variation outside of the official boards!

The only trouble I had was that threading in the screws for the first time is what makes the threads in the aluminum body, so you have to crank on them pretty hard. I stripped out the head on one of the screws but the kit actually comes with a couple extra screws, probably for this reason. Other than that everything fit perfectly, feels sturdy and looks great.

Very nice box; however, on the one I received the hole size and placement for the SMA's wasn't accurate. Fortunately, I have a step drill so it was easy to fix.

Does not fit the Open-Source HackRF SDR. The enclosure is clearly about 3mm too short. See photos which compare the Nooelec enclosure to another vendor's properly made enclosure. You can easily see the difference in length, and the gap it leaves. Additionally, the connection/indicator/control legends are printed on top, instead of the ends where the actual controls are. This is simply chintzy. Sadly, the enclosures are completely unusable and they are being returned.

The case fits well. I'm not sure it has done much to lower the RF noise floor as I thought it might. But it has made my HackRF more rugged than it was before. It might be nice to see one of these cases with a screw in USB cable port to help protect the fragile mini-usb ports. These are seen on higher end SDR cases like those for signal hound.

Originally decided to purchase the standard HackRF One but soon after bought the aluminum case after realizing how fragile my HRF1 truly was. No instructions are included but installation is fairly straightforward. A small(ish) screwdriver is required to install the case. Included are pictures of the upgraded radio and a side by side of the newly installed case and the original plastic molding. Provides adequate protection in a sleek form factor!

Personalmente preferisco la cover originale dell' HackRF One, anche se è in plastica, ma questa distribuita da Nooelec è in alluminio (peraltro di buona qualità). Si sostituisce molto bene ed in maniera perfetta alla cover originale. L'unica cosa a cui bisogna prestare un po' di attenzione quando si cambia guscio, sono i 3 delicatissimi connettori SMA saldati sulla board.

Absolutely perfect fit for the original hackrf. It's not just much more sturdy than the orignal plastic casing but it's also a great rf shield. Really commend this to everyone that still use the original plastic case or barebones.

Good solid case that cut down noise. The one I recieved had the print on flipped the wrong way, but I didn't care enough to exchange.
