TP-Link Tri-Band BE9700 WiFi 7 Router (Archer BE600)

Good router at a good price, fairly easy to setup except for the USB media server, not as friendly to setup the media server as another router that I had been using. Had to go on internet to find instructions on how to make it work correctly, some media was there and some was missing, but only as far as the server was concerned because if you hooked drive to a PC all files were there. How ever I was using VLC media player to access data and that was the main issue, but I did find workaround settings as previously stated and it all works OK now. Bought a second one to make a mesh network and that worked great and was easy to setup. Signals went from 20MHz-50MHz to 150MHz-250MHz, you're speeds may vary.

I recently upgraded my home network with the TP-Link Tri-Band BE9700 WiFi 7 router, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. This router deserves a solid 5/5 rating for its exceptional performance, ease of setup, and impressive speed improvements. Setting up the BE9700 was a breeze. The intuitive TP-Link tether app guided me through the process step-by-step, and I had my new network up and running in a matter of minutes. It seamlessly integrated with my existing modem, and I encountered no hitches or complications. The most noticeable improvement has been the incredible boost in speed. I replaced an older WiFi 5 router, and the difference is truly remarkable. Even with my current devices, which are only compatible with WiFi 6, I am routinely experiencing 2x to 3x faster speeds in the same locations throughout my house. Downloads are quicker, streaming is smoother, and online gaming is virtually lag-free. It's clear that the BE9700 is optimized to deliver superior performance even to older generation devices, making it a worthwhile upgrade even if you don't yet have WiFi 7 compatible clients. I haven't had the chance to test it with a true WiFi 7 client yet, but based on its current performance, I have no doubt that it will deliver even more impressive speeds and a truly next-generation wireless experience. The tri-band technology ensures that there's plenty of bandwidth for all my devices, preventing congestion and maintaining consistent, high-speed connections. Yay. I love my new router. I have a lot of smarthome devices, and I host a home web/game server for work. I was very afraid that my port forwarding/dynamic DNS and smarthome would be a pain to migrate to a new router. I was wrong. I used the same network name and password as my old router, and all of my devices reconnected fine (except one chinese security camera which i fixed after). The range is as decent as my old Netgear Nighthawk R7000. The lower frequencies (2.4ghz) have higher range and are better for that. But for processing power of a router, this is it baby. This thing increased my network speed by ~100mbps down and also decreased my latency, pretty impressive. This thing will easily be able to handle all of my smart home devices, server needs and gaming/streaming needs. I think it was a worthy upgrade from my 13yr old router. Quick setup tip: make sure to power down your modem and router first, because your modem is expecting the previous routers MAC address, so you might have to call your ISP and have them send a reboot signal from their end to get your modem to accept the new router MAC address. Other than that, setup was a breeze. Dynamic DNS works well, port forwarding was easy, and there are SO many features I haven't even looked into yet. I also have a TP-LINK network switch, and the router and switch are playing nicely together. All and all, I had netgear routers for like 20 years and they were great, i'm pleased to say that TP-LINK is also great, time will tell though.

I really wanted to love this router. The TP-Link Archer BE9700 (also sold as BE600) has impressive specs on paper — Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to 9.7 Gbps, a 10G port, nice multi-gig LAN ports, and claims of covering up to 2,600 sq ft with support for 120 devices. In reality, it fell short for my needs. I have a centrally located router in a rectangular house, but my Blink cameras (about 100 feet away through an interior wall and exterior wall with a bay window) get poor, unreliable signal on the 2.4GHz band. The 2.4GHz radio on this router is noticeably weak compared to my previous, cheaper router. I updated from firmware 1.1.1 to 1.2.5, and TP-Link's firmware completely wiped all my settings. I had to spend over an hour on my phone reconfiguring the entire router from scratch. The "up to 2,600 sq ft" coverage claim feels very optimistic. It seems based on ideal conditions with mostly 5/6GHz devices in an open space. Real-world 2.4GHz range for legacy devices is disappointing. If you're mostly using modern Wi-Fi 6E/7 devices close to the router and want fast 6GHz performance, this might work. But if you need solid 2.4GHz range for IoT devices, look elsewhere.

Difficult as heck to set up. Every other router I have ever used is basically just plug and play. This thing you have to use an app, and the settings and changes you do to get the thing running don't happen right away, making you think things aren't working. I almost returned it, but then it just suddenly started working. If you are not at least a bit tech savvy, I would avoid this product, or have your nerd grandson install it for you. I must say, once I got it up and running, the speed of data transfer on this thing is truly amazing. If it wasn't for the difficulty of setting it up, I would have given it 5 stars

Excellent router. Highly recommend! Easy to use. Easy to set up. Great security features! 2G, 5G, and 6G. It does run a couple of degrees warmer than the older dual mode routers, but if you don't put it in an enclosed area such as above a drop ceiling with no side openings for a little ventilation, you will never have to worry. Ours is above the drop ceiling in a wall corner in the middle of our home and it stays the same temp as the rest of the house because it does have an opening on the other side of the wall (storage area) for some ventilation.

upgraded fiber bandwidth and needed a new router to handle it. have used tap-link equipment for a long while and this one didn't disappoint me. Great coverage throughout my 2400+ house and enough for outdoor and remote cameras. easily set up.

I'm not impressed with this router. The signal strength is lower than what it was with my previous Nighthawk router. It's OK, but was hoping for signal improvement with their beam-forming antennas. Instead, signal strength declined, and the location was not moved.

It is good quality, and wifi 6 can reach as far as 25 meters inside concrete building. drawbacks for me, i have to control it through a third party, and multiple of subscription options. It realy did not feel private at all.

Good signal with optional IoT network, well made, good value. Easy to use. Integrates with TPlink app which works well. Highly recommended for WiFi 7 on a budget. Note comes with US plug, so needs a UK plug separately
