Tyres sent were NOT 3C or Skinwall
The description of these tyres is wrong. They are not Maxxis Ikon MaxxSpeed 3C/EXO/TR Skinwall tyres but Maxxis Ikon EXO/TR Tanwall tyres. This means they won't protect you as much from punctures (3C = 3 layers on the tread part of the tyre). They are also Tanwall (much darker colour wall than in the pictures) which personally I don't think looks as good. Probably still good tyres, being Maxxis, just not what you may think you're ordering.

Awesome tire for 26" retro rebuilds
I put these tires on my Gary Fisher ATB build. I'm running these with tubes. I took the bike out for its maiden voyage yesterday. I ran the front tire at 30psi and the rear tire at 33psi. We rode for just over an hour on single track trails with a mix of hard pack, gravel, sand, and rock with no problem. There were no issues with traction, sidewall flex, braking, imbalances, or noise. I'm going to lower the pressure to 28 & 30 psi for my next ride as my bike is rigid and I think this will help a bit with ride comfort. I don't think I'm risking a pinch flat at these pressures. Bottom line, these tires rode beautifully and they look awesome on my bike. They weren't cheap, but they didn't break the bank and, so far, it looks like money well spent.
