If you want a mixed down recording, you can go straight to a USB flash drive. We do this every Sunday to record sermons. If you want a full 32-channel recording for later mastering and mixing, you can use the USB interface and go right to GarageBand, Logic, Audacity, etc. It's extremely easy.

If you want to do a real, full recording, use the USB interface to a computer with a DAW, like GarageBand. If you just need a simple, single-channel recording, record to a USB flash drive directly on the board.

What makes this different from the X32 Producer?

The main difference is the producer does not give you a LED panel strip for channel labeling

Can a scene save/restore channel routing configs such that I can switch routing of channels to different matrix outputs with simple scene change?

The scene save won't have anything to do with the routing. On the save screen, you can "check" the box for saving your routing. You can make it save the routing, but the board is setup to be a fail safe an only records the input stage. But a simple scene change won't change the output. Hope that helps.

Super console

Je l’utilise en studio depuis 6 mois, et je suis entièrement satisfait! Les preamps sont transparents, les effets intégrés sonnent super bien, les possibilités de routing sont géniales (entre autre avec le firmware 4.0), et le DAW control fonctionne super bien. Je la conseille grandement soit pour studio ou live. Belle job Behringer!

Its not the easiest to master but it is great quality!

Be sure to know first where cables shoul be connected and connect the speakers, get it into position where it will be used from and not moved, then check volume before turning on, from there the hard work starts but there are great tutorials on YouTube and not too hard to take in there the knowledge. Its a good product from Behringer. Within the top ten mixers of 2025

Incredible piece of machinery

Flipping incredible piece of engineering. Absolute credit to behringer even if they had a wobbly past this console absolutely pulls them out of the dirt and puts them back into the market of affordable digital gear. I use this for contract work around England and it’s amazing, rugged, fairly lightweight and along with a flight case it is brilliant to move around easily. I got the compact hoping that features weren’t compromised and I was absolutely correct. Brilliant piece of kit. My one and only complaint however is that there is a tiny dead pixel on the lcd screen towards the top right hand side and although isn’t a problem i would just suggest that maybe Behringer’s quality control should maybe be slightly tighter.
