Much Better Than Expected, Good Value
I was not impressed - at first - with this unit. I felt the shock mounts were probably too rigid to be of much value. Boy was I wrong. The unit dramatically decreased handling noise when my zoom H5 was mounted on a handheld grip. As in I had to make an effort to make some handling noise that would register.I have not used the cold shoe that came with the unit, but appreciate the possibility; the other pieces were interchangeable enough to easily mount on a small tripod size mount directly. The mounting mechanism to attach 3H5 is sufficiently flexible that you can balance the recorder for your particular use, which was also appreciated. In the past I have used the Zoom H5 on a stationary tripod, with isolation feet for the base of the tripod. I will now routinely add this shock mount to further decrease noise transmission through the stand.Did not rate durability as Iโve only had it a few days in use, but so far it is holding up just fine. :-)

Love this great cheap accessory
Works great

Definitely helpful
Definitely takes away a lot of the handling noise I had with just my pistol grip or cold shoe mount, but thereโs still a little bit of contact noise. My only concern is durability. Whenever I close it up in my camera case, Iโm worried about something breaking. But maybe thatโs just me. Either way, itโs a quality product and it has greatly improved the sound quality on my Tascam DR-40

Does the job for a reasonable price.
We use it with a Zoom H5 studio and a mini-tripod. It does the job for a reasonable price.

It works!
I am using it with Zoom H6 Essential on GH6. It isolates camera sound effectively!

OK, but it works
Does an OK job of isolating noise between the microphone and the device it's mounted to. Still on the lookout for something better, but this works for now.

Effective in isolating handling noise. Excellent price-performance
I own a couple of these shock mounts and use them with Zoom H5 and Sony PCM-D100 recorders. The Movo SMM5 does what it is supposed to do: noticeably reduces handling (aka mechanically transferred) noise. I have taken mine to a dozen of field recording outings. So far, they are holding up pretty well: plastic parts look intact, all screws are in place, and the rubber pad on top is still grippy and properly attached to the base.Pros:* Effective in isolating the mechanically transferred noise* Materials and construction are adequate for the price. (Compare it to Rycote Portable Recorder Suspension if you wish ๐)* I like the sliding screw design of the recorder attachment. It really works securing a device at the balanced, center-of-mass positionCons:* I wish MOVO included 3/8" to 1/4" bushing. I use my SMM5's mounted on a tripod ball head, so a tiny 3/8" to 1/4" bushing would be a better alternative to the included bulkier cold shoe adapterNote: I have both Black and Red versions of the Movo SMM5. I am attaching photos of the Red version, but functionally they are exactly the same.

Werkt goed.
Werkt goed. Ik gebruikt hem onder een zoom h6. Werkt beter dan de shockmount van rycote die speciaal voor handheld fieldrecorders gemaakt is.

A must-have accessory for the Zoom H1
This mount is a good match to flat base hand-held recorders with standard quarter inch mounting sockets such as the Zoom H series or the Tascams. The large supporting plate and screw fitting gives a much more secure and compact attachment than the more common "cat's cradle" designs, and this inspires confidence for field use. When fitted to the hotshoe on a camcorder, the raised shape of the mount means it doesn't interfere with operation of the rear controls. But is it effective? When testing it using a sound recorder fitted to tripod stand and inflicting some fairly hefty bumps and drags onto the stand, I found this mount was reducing the noise of the shock events by around 20db. In the same tests, the cat's cradle shockmount was achieving around 22db reduction, so the cats cradle is just slightly better than this mount at the loud end of the range but both designs are very effective when considering more realistic shocks. If you have used the Zoom H1 range, you will know that they are very susceptible to even light handling noise. Using this mount on a short pole completely eliminates that problem and greatly improves the handheld recording quality. This shock mount is well made, more practical than the traditional shock mounts, quick to set up, inexpensive, and highly effective. For me it has instantly become a must-have accessory for the H1 range. Highly recommented.

Absolutely stunning!
Absolutely stunning results for the price. Tested it with my Sony PCM-D100 and was amazed at how good this thing was at absorbing low frequencies. It actually makes it possible to record from the hand with the recorder connected to a selfie stick WITHOUT the need to turn on the low cut filter. Without this mount I _always_ had it set to at least 75Hz when recording in that manner. Highly recommended! And btw, it does not feel "flimsy". Anyone with a bit of physics knowledge understands that in order to provide this level of absorption at those frequencies the device must have a "gentle & delicate" construction.
