Because they don't "cut" in at the back of his heel, they let him have good support and comfort in a shoe without aggravating that tendon. He's had them for about a year and they have held up well to regular wear and they still look good. The fit is true to size and they are great for walking -- he spends all day on his feet workin gin a school.

These are the most comfortable shoes I think I've ever worn. I've honestly not had a single bit of plantar pain since I started wearing these. The cushioning is plush but not overly plush, the arch support is perfect for my low arches, and the achilles padding really helps with stability. My only gripe would be it seems as if the laces are shorter than the Glycerin GTS 20s that I bought last year. Oh well. I'd rather deal with that and have everything else about these shoes be perfect. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
