SOWKIPE Manual Bread Slicer for Sourdough, Adjustable Hand Crank, Black

This inexpensive bread slicer exceeded my expectations. Slices cleanly through any bread I have put through it, and doesn't move while doing so. The blade is sharp, thickness is easily adjustable. I had been baking cranberry wild rice bread (for sandwiches) but could never get even slices so I quit baking. Now every slice is the perfect thickness. Glad to be baking again because of this slicer!

I've been really happy with this SOWKIPE Manual Bread Slicer! The suction cups on the feet hold it securely in place on our granite countertops, so it doesn't slide around while slicing. The build quality seems excellent so far, and the blade is very sharp, making each cut smooth, clean, and effortless. I also love that you can easily adjust the blade depth to choose exactly how thick or thin you want your slices. It's simple to use, works great, and has made slicing homemade bread much easier. Highly recommend!

This is a great slicer. Good value for the money and does not waste the slices by inconsistent thickness. I was surprised that the base is wood. I expected plastic made to look like wood. It is very easy to use and sticks to the counter with the very "sticky" suction cups. It never moves on me. As to sharpness, I have the cuts to prove that it is very sharp. Don't let your attention waiver. My only complaint is that the way to adjust thickness it a little bit loose, but I can deal with that.

We made our own sourdough bread weekly and were tired of unevenly sliced bread for sandwiches. This is great, slices are uniform now. The kids have gotten into bagels for a grab and go breakfast, so we grab them whole from the Costco bakery and slice with this. Learning curve on the bagels, but super easy to use. So far very durable with weekly use. Suction cups keep it stable (keep it on a piece of paper in the cupboard so it doesn’t stick there). Can’t live without it now.

Amazon is loaded with cheaply made garbage products with gibberish names, so based on this product’s utterly stupid brand name, I was skeptical. However, this is one of those rare Amazon finds that exceeds expectations. The product is made with all cast metal construction with a solid wood base, unusual in an age where everything is made from plastic. After unboxing it, I was concerned at first because the superstructure was a little wobbly, but that was quickly resolved by tightening the screw on the bottom with the Allen wrench that they supplied. I make a sourdough loaf every weekend and this tool cut through that crusty bread cleanly and easily. The blade is crazy sharp. I would recommend wearing a cut proof glove when using the product, because there is no safety guard. The suction cups gripped my quartz countertop firmly, and the cutter did not move while I was using it.

This slicer is awesome. Very solid. When I adjust the size of the slice, the adjustment stays put. No gradual increasing in slice width. The slicer was supposed to come with two adjustment tools. My shipment was missing the Allen wrench, but I had one that fit so it wasn't a big deal. The wrenches are great for keeping the blade and slice width constant. The blade is removable/replaceable using the tool to remove. The slices were uniform. The crank was very easy to rotate and after trying to cut sourdough by hand for years, this is a huge improvement. I tried slicing a pretzel bagel in two pieces and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked out.

I love this slicer! After waiting for over 6 months trying to decide if I should spend the money on the MUCH more expensive model or take a chance on the cheaper one, I finally took a chance. I am so happy I did. This slicer cuts through a sourdough boule with ease. No more worrying about injuring myself with a knife because the boule is so difficult to slice through - especially at the bottom. This slicer also has great suction cups at the bottom which keep the slicer from sliding around on the countertop. I can hardly get it up off the counter when I want to put it way. It cleans up easily, just wipe off the crumbs. And it has a control arm which keeps the slice of bread out of the way of the cranking arm. So far I haven’t found one thing wrong with this slicer. Also, I was concerned about where I would store it because in the pictures it appeared to be large and bulky. But it’s not as big as it looks in the pictures and it’s pretty light weight. It will still take up some room where ever you store it. But not as bad as I expected. I know someone who owns the very expensive brand name slicer. I tried that one before I purchased this one and I can’t tell the difference. I have only had this for one day so I can’t tell you how long it will last. But I would have to buy several of these before I spent as much as I would on the brand name slicer. Take a chance.

This bread slicer is the best thing I invested and worth every dollar I spent. I can cut my bread very thin to Texas toast sizes and so smooth and fast that you don’t need knife anymore. It cuts In precision and so easy to clean. I wish I knew this product sooner.

Bought this about a month ago since I started making home made bread. I love how easy it is to use and clean. It does very consistent cuts. It did not take long to get used to. It solved my bread getting squished problem using a regular bread knife.
