The test results are inaccurate.
The promotion claims that it can accurately identify diamonds. However, the actual detection process has significant flaws. Synthetic sapphires, zircons, crystals and other diamond imitations can all be identified as genuine diamonds by the instrument.

Good basic gem tester
Works well to determine if the gem is a diamond or moissanite vs a CZ or glass. It can not distinguish between a Moissanite or Diamond though. You need to not use gloves with this and touch the metal on the jewelry if you want to be sure that you are not touching the metal. This device uses thermal conductivity to try to see if the gem is a diamond. Diamonds have a high thermal conductivity unlike Cz and glass. So touching metal will register as a diamond as well. If you are touching the metal of the jewelry and the metal plate on the back of the tester it will flash saying the resistance is low hence metal. I am not going to bother posting images as there are a lot around

Diamond Detector
I got this Diamond Doctor , and I don’t know yet if I like it only because the insane limited. Being a newbie I started on the low end scale however YouTube has the best instructions for many products bought, and do much more. It looks decent , the Diamond Detector and feels solid , I just wish the instructions were more detailed.
