SMALLRIG Magnetic Metal Phone Mount with Cold Shoe Mount - 5156

Picked this up to mount my phone on top of my camera for behind-the-scenes shots and it works exactly as advertised. The magnet is strong — locks my iPhone in place with a solid snap, no wobble even when I’m moving around. MagSafe alignment is perfect. Build quality is what you’d expect from SmallRig. All metal, feels heavy-duty, no plastic anywhere. The cold shoe mount slides into my camera’s hot shoe cleanly and tightens down with no play. Also has a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom so I can stick it on a tripod or cage too. Setup took literally 10 seconds. No tools, no fuss. Phone goes on and off in a second which is great when I need to switch between filming and texting. Only thing to note — if your phone doesn’t have MagSafe or a MagSafe case, this won’t work. I’d recommend grabbing a magnetic ring sticker if you’re on Android. For the price, it’s a no-brainer for anyone doing dual-camera content or BTS work

I love this mount so much! Feels like a very strong material, has a very nice feel to it, incredibly easy to mount and change the angle! I also do like that it's a very strong black metallic material, it's makes the mount look THAT much more professional! Overall, this in combination with your cameras monitor app, 10/10 setup all around! It has led to some great shots, and has helped me when I needed that second eye! Great value for what it is.

I own quite a bit of Smallrig gear and I've always been happy with them. Not this time.. this one's a flop. It's built really well: all-metal build, good weight, and it has a double hinge for adjustment (which didn't work). the lock on the cold shoe etc nicely machined. And... that's where it stops. One: it doesn't hold my phone... a puny iPhone 13 with a standard case, not a tough case or anything just a silicone one. I shook it once and the phone fell. Two: The pivot on the cold shoe side doesn't budge AT ALL. There was another reviewer who pointed this out, and I took a video of it. They provide an allen wrench to remove the round mount plate, but it doesn't fit the other hex screw on the cold-shoe mount end, so there's no way to loosen it without other tools (which I didn't try). So... two critical points that don't work: the magnet strength and the hinge. It's completely useless. 1/5... do not recommend.

This is a genuis tool for photographers who want to record content while shooting. The piece fits on the hotshoe easily and the MagSafe is strong and holds even the larger iPhone very well. Very sturdy item.

semplice, ma efficace. Lo uso su cavalletti con vite filettata per sostenere l'iphone. Il magnete tiene molto bene il peso e l'attacco è sia a vite filettata, sia cold shoe, quindi molto versatile. Oggetto di ottima costruzione e materiali.

I think this is one of the best phone mounts for iPhone, the magnet is super strong and hold the phone tight, never felt like it was going to fall off or anything. The mounting options for tripods or hotshoe of cameras is endless. Built quality is world class, worth the money

La calidad de construcción es indiscutible. Muy buena como nos tiene acostumbrados la marca. El imán del Magsafe es mas que suficiente, ¿que me hubiera gustado un poco más fuerte? Si, pero cumple bien las expectativas. El enganche en zapata fría es perfecta. Recomiendo el producto sobretodo si usas tu iPhone como monitor.
