Very good and very fermented!
Make no mistake, this is an "umami bomb"! It's like a very strong soft cheese, it's very fermented and a little goes a long way, but I love it and use it all the time in soups and stews.

Not Spicy but Salty
Can't say this is spicy. I was hoping for that exhilirating szechuan tongue burn but all I got was a mouthful of salt. The tofu doesn't feel or taste like tofu, more like a texture similar to a chunk of really salty butter. I could never eat this as is but I did find it useful to add in soups in place of the salt.

Nice tangy flavor. The brine is thick with 乳腐 residue that clings to every piece.

Fermented tofu cubes should be intact, this one came in the mail almost like a slushie. Hard to fish out intact tofu cubes.
