Thinking about buying this, DO IT. It’s welll made, easy to use, and immediately helps you stop over-heating. Perfect for hot days, working in the garage, motorcycle rides, or long walks. It makes hot weather truly tolerable. Worth the investment.

I work in a manufacturing setting as a press operator and although my company has rented a 40 ton capacity air conditioning unit the production floor still gets so hot that it is evident that people are on the verge of heat prostration- you can see it by the red faces and stress as they move at a slower pace than usual. In my corner of the building the heat builds up so much on 90°F days that the press electrical cabinet sometimes fails in what is actually about 120°F to 125°F ambient temperatures. Last Friday I actually got sick from the heat and I decided to do something about it by ordering this cooling vest. I was especially impressed with the fact that the gel packs freeze at 59°F in 20 minutes if they are submerged in ice water. A fully re-charged set of gel packs do not feel like ice cubes but the cooling sensation is strong enough to weather the hottest and most humid conditions. It cools off your core effectively, allowing you to have a clear mind while moving at an aggressive pace throughout the shift. However, you must plan in advance how you will recharge your gel packs! You will want to change them out every 2 to 3 hours. I bring a Play- mate cooler with me to work stocked with big blocks of ice which I make using Rubbermaid containers in my downstairs freezer. It holds water bottles and my gel packs. On a brutal night working nine hour shifts this cooling vest will increase your productivity and comfort exponentially. I highly recommend it for anyone who is working in misery because of the heat! Consider it an investment in your health and both mental and physical power. The garment and gel packs are of excellent, top-notch quality.

Bought this to wear under a cosplay costume as lots of people had recommended it, but unfortunately it's not the bet fit for me personally. It was bulkier and larger than I'd been expecting (the velcro straps were at their maximum tightness on me), and while the icepacks were great at the start of my cosplay session, about an hour in I could feel it doing the opposite of what I wanted and needed: and that was trapping heat next to my body and not cooling it. 4 stars only because I think it can be a great product for other people and I plan to try it again another time.

I purchased a Glacier Tek Sport Vest because I've seen other golfers at my club wearing cool vests and was referred by one of them to this product. It is absolutely amazing - comfortable, snug fit (fully adjustable) and performs better than claimed. It moderates body core temperature without being too cold or too warm, and last for a complete round of golf. It is pretty warm now in Southern California and the reduced heat stress makes a big difference on how I feel when done (wish it lowered my score....). I've tried cooling towels are similar items that didn't do anything after 5 minutes of use, and I've seen some vests that cost two or three times as much from Europe that didn't perform as well, and just seemed kind of gimicky. This vest works! Is easy to recharge in cold water, lasts a long time and is very comfortable and not bulky. I would recommend this vest to anyone who works or plays in the heat of summer. It will keep you refreshed and cool, and able to make fun of your friends who don't own a cooling vest!

Does exactly what it says. Only reason I gave it a 3 is because one of my cooling packs leaked from 2 chambers so I had to dispose of that cooling pack.

The idea was a really good idea however the vest is made out of a solid fabric which is hot. So it counteracts the fact that there's ice packs in it and is still extremely hot and unfortunately not cooling me. If this was made out of Annette fabric with just net mesh it would probably work great! For now I'll just put ice packs in my pockets and a wet bandana on my head. I also can put ice in a bandana and wrap it around my neck that works better than this! Returning after one day unfortunately

This vest WILL NOT whisk you away to an air conditioned room... It will keep your core temperature down, reduce sweating a bit, not completely, increase energy levels in the heat, and reduce the chance of heat related illnesses. The cool packs are a bit bulky until the melt down a little. Single pack in each pocket (4) lasts about an hour (a bit more) in 90*F heat, and keeps your core cool to the touch. In hot and humid conditions there is condensation, so they’re not a bone dry solution, but a lot drier than an evaporative vest. The weight (they are not feather light) Is well distributed over your shoulders, and very comfortable. Putting ALL the cooling pads in makes the vest a little bulky, but not unwearable, and still allows for a wide range of motion. Folks with long torsos will find this rides a little higher than you’d expect, but it’s cooling your core, not your belt. I can comment on durability as I’ve only had it for a month, but it gets used 6.5 hours a day 5 days a week, and show no signs of stitching coming undone. This isn’t a very cheap solution to surviving heat, but it is effective. Just don’t expect miracles... Expect a cooler body core, which reduces stress on your body, and especially your heart.

I have a medical condition that causes me to overheat easily and it's not just feeling hot - it's becoming light-headed, having difficulty thinking, and extreme fatigue. In the past I have limited my time outdoors, and then come in, laid down on the couch, and put a cold pack on my chest, neck etc. This worked, but meant I was immobile. The vest is a huge improvement. It is comfortable and easy to adjust to fit the way you want. And it means I can walk around - outside and inside. I still limit my time outdoors, but when I come it, if I haven't been wearing my vest, when I put it on it feels so good. Getting cooled from both sides of my torso is great. Also the packs go solid in the freezer really quickly and even in the refrigerator in a couple of hours. At least as I use them, the packs stay cool a long time. It was a big swallow to spend this much money, but I have no regrets.
