SAFAVIEH Vintage Hamadan Area Rug 6'7"x9', Traditional Red & Multi VTH213A

Sorry for the bad picture quality, and for my boyfriend's thousand yard stare. He just looks like that. I was hopeful about this rug based on Safavieh's reputation, and somehow it still exceeded my expectations. It arrived very quickly, and rolled up (not folded as I've heard happens sometimes). I rolled it out last night and with the exception of the last couple inches along the edge, it immediately lays flat. Mild "new rug" smell but nothing too strong or chemical. It's very soft, thick, and plush. I admit I didn't actually measure the room before ordering the 6'7"x9 (because who has time for that kind of basic and commonsense pre-planning), so this thing was way bigger than I pictured, but I'm not bothered at all. If you, unlike me, are not an impulsive rug-buyer and actually do your homework (or have a basic ability to imagine scales of objects) then it won't be a surprise to you. The thing I was most worried about was the look of it--I doubted that one of these plush "faux oriental" rugs with faux distressing/antiquing was really a suitable alternative to the real thing. But it is! You really don't notice that it's not a "real" oriental rug until you're on top of it, and by that point the softness has won you over enough that you don't care. And the pattern is lovely! Looks just like the picture in my estimation, no brighter or duller. No comment on durability yet, so I'll update if it starts falling apart, but I agree with other reviewers that it certainly feels high quality. I feel sort of silly for ever thinking that a 50% off rug from World Market was ever a good deal. THIS is a deal.

If rugs could talk, this one would have an accent, a passport full of stamps, and a thousand tales to tell. The colors are rich without being loud, like it knows it’s the star of the hallway but doesn’t need to shout about it. The traditional Persian design is absolutely stunning, the kind of pattern that makes guests casually glance down, pause, and then ask, “Where did you get this?” It’s soft underfoot without being delicate, which is perfect because our kitchen is basically a NASCAR track for kids, pets, and the occasional sock-sliding adult. Non-shedding? Check. Easy care? Also check. I’ve vacuumed, spot-cleaned, and even accidentally dropped an entire cup of coffee on it (don’t ask). It still looks like it just arrived. This runner instantly made my kitchen look intentional instead of “that weird space between island and perimeter cabinets.” If you’re on the fence, get it. It’s the kind of upgrade that makes you feel like your home suddenly got a little more put together, and maybe a little more worldly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Love at first step.

This is a seriously beautiful rug, and 100% worth the price. I never write reviews, but buying a rug online can be so difficult, and this one really deserves a good review! We have had the rug for almost 6 months now and we have a very crazy dog who does zoomies all over it, and it still looks brand new- not a fiber out of place! The colors are beautiful and really warm up our space, not overly bright and quite true to the listing photos. You can obviously tell that it isn't a really fancy oriental rug and initially I wasn't sure if I loved how the strings come up as individual colors instead of more seamlessly dyed ones (see second photo and ignore the dog hair, our vacuum is broken at the moment), but now I just love it and with the room all together I don't see those tiny details. Overall, really love this rug and highly recommend!

Nice rug, soft and substantial, I got the 8X10’size. There is one spot that has a mistake in the weaving. They started with white yarn and didn’t correct it. In the photo it looks like a lighting problem, but it’s not, it’s actually bright white yarn. So if you want something perfect for $200, don’t buy this.

This is a very soft and plush area rug that I put in our foyer - I went with the 4’x6’. It is thicker and more well-made than I thought it would be for the price! I also purchased a grip rug pad from the same company to prevent it from sliding. To better shape the rug, I rolled it in reverse once it arrived to help it lay flat. There were no corners sticking up after maybe two days - and a couple more reverse rolls in the corners the following day helped. From the pictures, I couldn’t tell there was a good amount of yellowish-green in the rug, but it’s subtle - and I don’t mind it (plus it’s described as a multi-color rug). Overall, it is pretty much what I expected and am happy with the purchase.

Beautiful rug! Great quality and quick shipping

I ordered this rug specifically for a party and it arrived the day before and unfortunately they shipped the wrong package. Amazon put me in touch with the manufacturer/shipper's customer service who were less than helpful…are sure it’s the wrong rug, we can’t help you, you’ll have to call Amazon, all the supervisors are busy, no they can’t call you back and there’s no direct number for them etc etc. They have some nice rugs but I won’t roll the dice with them and their customer service again.

This is my second one. They have a plush feel and a rich color, which reminds me of expensive rugs in places I have been. This rug adds a lot of comfort to my room. When I was needing another rug, I was so happy Safavieh still carried this line so that I could match my first one.
