From the description, the test sounds simple to use—just poke your finger with a lancet, drop some blood in a vial, and send it back to the company. It sounded so easy. It’s not. The first clue should have been that you are given four (yes, four) lancets so you can continue to prick your fingers to get enough blood. This is not only painful, but actually not enough lancets. After I used the first lancet it took 15 minutes for me to get just a tiny amount of blood into the vial. If I had continued, it would have required 10+ lancets to draw half the blood needed. And it certainly would have taken me an hour or more to do it. Even after following all the directions (i.e. run your hands under warm water first, use a certain finger, etc.), for me it was impossible to do. Perhaps if you bleed easily, this kit is for you. I sent it back.

The kit has very easy to follow instructions. I love that they include extra lancets in case you don’t collect enough blood from the first finger prick. I’ve had difficulty before when trying to collect enough blood. I recommend keeping your hand below heart level, washing your hands with warm water and doing a little exercise before collecting your sample. It doesn’t require much blood, and a good chunk of the bottle has preservative in it. Make sure to activate your test when you collect your sample otherwise their labs can’t process your results. Overall really satisfied with my purchase. A great way to check your health in the comfort of your home.Update: took my sample on Tuesday and I shipped it out that same day. It had just arrived at the lab one day later. Now it will take 3-5 BSD to process my sample at the lab. Not bad!

I should have listened to the other reviews. Two stars for the organized kit, good instructions for collection, and decent website for creating an account. Stars take. Off because 1. You have to go to the website for instructions about your specific test, and what’s there is vague—you’re just supposed to collect in the morning, no intense exercise the day before. That’s it? 2. The required sample is HUGE for a finger-stick. It’s a vial and they insist you collect to the TOP line on it. I’m a reasonably healthy person in my 30s. I stuck four fingers (ring and middle on each hand) and despite following the instructions I could only get 1/4 of the required blood. Inadequate samples can’t be processed so if my refund doesn’t go through I’m out $80. You’ve been warned.

I loved it. It didn't hurt. I just poked my finger once and I filled the vial. But You have to do it on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before 10 AM. Then as soon as you are finished take it (or give it to UPS) because it has to be over night to lab (which is paid for by lab). Mine came back and the nurse called me but I missed her call though so they released my results online. Mine showed me that my Cortisol was high!! Scary so I will make an appointment with my doctor!

The sample was easy to collect. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. It is intimidating to knowingly cause yourself to bleed, but it does not hurt very much at all. Once it was mailed out the test took very little time at all. I had results very quickly and they were very simple to read. It gave a number, mentioned the normal range of numbers, and specified whether you are within that normal range or not. Worth checking out.

Horrible test. The kit itself arrived okay, but they give you one collection tube to fill with blood and the amount of blood they want is ridiculous. It was very hard to use. I ended up throwing it away. What a waste of money.
