Somewhat effective, but probably not enough to justify the price
I have IBS and quite offensive gas, so I figured I'd try this product and see how well it worked. I took them at a dose of 4-6 tablets per day until they ran out after about 3 weeks.Gas odor was noticeably reduced, but nowhere near eliminated. I can sort of quantify this too - I used a GasAlertClip hydrogen sulfide (H2S) detector to measure my gas's H2S level by farting into the detector. H2S is the main odor-causing gas in flatulence, causing the rotten-egg component of the smell (a few other sulfur-containing gases with slighly different offensive odors make up the remainder). Devrom is supposed to work by reacting with the H2S to form solid, odorless bismuth sulfide. I have seen claims that bismuth subgallate can reduce H2S levels by 95% or more, but I don't think it was anywhere near that effective for me.Here's what I did. I said I have bad farts, and I mean it. Ordinarily any of my farts will easily max it out at 83-85 ppm (it doesn't read higher than that); they might even be slightly dangerous if breathed straight from the source! Even though I was taking it at pretty high doses and there was some odor reduction, I still maxed out the detector with nearly every fart. Unless my farts have astronomical H2S levels unknown to medical science (>1000 ppm), which I doubt because my farts haven't actually killed or seriously sickened anyone, it's probably only reducing the H2S content by no more than roughly 75%, and more likely less.Overall they did work somewhat for me, but only at higher than normal doses and even then not that impressively. I haven't bought them again and don't plan to - it's not really worth $20 every three weeks or so.

Nearly perfect for those with surgically altered digestive systems.
For most people, this product might seem to be a joke, but not to people like me.I am 26 years old and had a Whipple procedure 5 years ago. (Look it up if you aren't familiar with it.)Long story short, I had pancreatic cancer and am now missing 40% of my pancreas, part of my small bowel, my gallbladder, and 1/3 of my stomach. This is a massive surgery, I was told it's the most advanced surgery one can have short of a transplant (not sure if that's true or not)The end result is positive, my tumor was entirely removed. However, I am left with a very nasty and embarrassing side effect. HORRIBLE smelling gas and bowel movements. Not only that, but they are frequent (think passing gas every 5-10 minutes and 3-5 bowel movements a day)I take pancreatic enzymes to help manage these symptoms but they don't completely fix the job. This is a problem that has gotten in the way of me living a normal life. I can't imagine sitting in an office or enclosed space all day while exposing my coworkers to my smell. My girlfriend is an angel for putting up with it.I ended up discovering these tablets and let me tell you, they are ALMOST a life changer. I say almost because they don't fix the problem, and they don't completely eliminate the odor, but they help a LOT.I usually take around 6 per day (I take 20-25 enzyme pills per day) and as long as I am consistent in taking them, things are significantly better. The price is pretty fair, considering my enzyme pills are nearly $10,000 for a 3 month supply without top of the line insurance (Which I pay dearly for and are still $200 per refill.)I recommend this product especially for people who have surgically altered bodies and feel like living a normal life is nearly impossible because of nasty side effects. This sounds really silly, but I nearly teared up when I passed gas after using these for a few days, and didn't feel like the paint was going to peel off the walls. Like I said, it hasn't solved the problem, but it has made it about 80-90% better. I'm very impressed

Expensive, but worth it!
I had a bariatric surgery called Duodenal Switch about 2 years ago. While this is a miraculous surgery, it comes with a pretty stinky side effect.... a rather awful, lingering stinch to gas and stool. It can be managed fairly well with eating less carbs and sugar, but it can still be pretty bad. Everyone says "all gas and poop stinks", but this is at a whole different level! Take my word for it! Anyway, I decided to give this a try to see if it might help a little. I wasn't sure how many to take, but after reading some other reviews and doing my own research, I decided on 2 tablets 3 times a day with main meals. Here is what I noticed after about 3 weeks of use.1.) The taste of the chewables is fine, and I'm pretty sensitive to how chewables taste. I can't really describe the taste, but I don't have any trouble with these. I do have to work at getting the chewed up pieces out of my back teeth, but it can be minimized by trying to chew mainly with the front teeth.2.) These will turn your stools a dark greenish color.3.) After a couple of days of steadily taking it, I really did notice a MUCH reduced odor!! It still was a little stinky, but NOTHING like before. The odors didn't linger out into the hallway or rest of the house. I tested it out at my sister's house, and my niece, nephew, and sister all agreed that it was not as bad as before. I'm happy with that!4.) It can be expensive if you have to take 6-9 a day, so since I live alone, I don't take it when I know I'm just going to be home all weekend. I also increase my dose to 3 tablets 3 times a day when I know I'm going to be visiting relatives for a day or two. The thing to remember is that you need to take it for a day or 2 before it really starts working.I highly recommend this! Just wish it wasn't so darn expensive.
