It works!
It works! I plugged my earphones into the 1/8" jack on the adapter, and the USB plug into my Samsung Galaxy tablet, and started listening to music. No distortion, stereo faithfully reproduced. A money-saver compared with buying USB earphones. Very happy with it.

Playback ONLY works from USB-C to AUX
Because this cable isn't made with an internal DAC, playback/recording is only compatible from USB-C --> AUX, as the audio quality from other way around is non-existent. If you are looking to do playback from AUX --> USB-C, get one that specifically states it is MADE with a DAC. Besides that, it just works and sounds alright.

Very useful adapter.
I needed this adapter to link my iPad usb C to an amplifier. I have certain bagpipe tunes on my iPad, and at band rehearsal it helps to play along with the soundtracks of professional bands. This adapter works great for that purpose.
