Good product
The taste wasn't a complete shock and turn off like I've read in reviews before buying this product. It is a tad salty compared to the more common brands of tooth paste you probably grew up with. If you ever gargled with baking soda and water or brushed with baking soda the flavor probably wont bother you. Not a whole lot of foam but it get's your teeth clean, no complaints from the dentist. I do wish it was a little more affordable, I made this jar last a few months by switching to regular tooth paste a few days and then using this product another day...and i do use my finger to put the paste on my tooth brush rather than dipping which might have also helped make it last a little longer. I'm one person though, I can see a family of Four trying to use this product and it breaking the bank...which isn't something anyone should have to worry about when buying toothpaste while, trying to put the environment first. There was no problems with the jar drying up either...screw that lid on and you shouldn't have problems with it drying up. I love the packaging design and really wish other tooth paste brands would consider designs like this. I will probably buy again.

Happy to have found this.
Edit nov 2023: ive tried reordering the fennel toothpaste twice and each time they are sending me the charcoal one instead! Ive had to do 2 returns now and cant find this toothpaste anywhere else. Arg!!! Jan 22: I had receding gums for awhile, the techs always measured them twice per year. I always had cavities and issues. I started using natural toothpaste and my gums not only stopped receding, but the gap b/w my teeth and gums began to shrink, much to the shock of the techs and dentist. Also, no more cavities and less tartar, cleanings became much easier and faster. They said that was rare and what was I doing, so I told them, no more commercial toothpaste. I used to live in BC so I could buy this at a normal shop, now Im in the southwest USA and super happy I could find it on amazon.com!

Works -Second Review
Could tell the difference right away - sensitive areas stopped being sensitive. Yes you can taste the castile soap but the other ingredients cancel most of that. Besides, my concern is effectiveness, not taste. This is an updated review. Originally bought for my husband and myself, the first review was my experience. This second review is my update and my husband's experience. I had to discontinue using this product because it became apparent that I cannot tolerate xylitol. :( However my husband is a different story and one that needs to be shared. He is a vegetarian and has historically eaten tofu almost daily a good partof his life. High in protein and absent any carbs this seems like a no brainer. AND - it is processed with Calcium. His doctor told him some time ago that he needed to stop the tofu - so he stopped. We tried to replace his Calcium with broccoli etc. but clearly that did not work. He lost so much enamel that his teeth began to thin, actually becoming translucent. He had a front tooth that had actually chipped off a decent area of the tooth. So he started with this toothpaste and it has been VERY impressive - he began to gain strength, enamel in his teeth and the translucent appearance began to fade to solid color - although the teeth would soak in colors of his food. Over time that became less and less of a problem. We have recently done some research and determined that the tofu can be a part of his diet with some other protein/calcium modifications, and his teeth are becoming very white and nice looking. A little way to go yet but it is more than obvious he'll get there. Yes, the Tofu back in has given an extra boost, but this toothpaste has made a substantial difference as well. As I write this update we are waiting for our third order of this product.

EXPENSIVE BAKING SODA, but cleans teeth well.
It's baking soda with added minerals and citrus flavor. Quite expensive for the amount (3.3 oz).

The Citrus Spice Blend flavor tastes like Lysol with a soap aftertaste.
The Citrus Spice Blend is the most disgusting toothpaste I've ever tried, hands down. The first time I brushed my teeth with it, I tried to identify the awful flavor. It was like an industrial cleaning chemical and reminded me of working a janitorial job in college. Then it struck me -- Lysol. And, yes, it tastes that bad. I might have been able to get over that fact since it rinses out of the mouth, but after I'd rinsed my mouth and went on to my next activity, I realized my mouth tasted like liquid Castile soap. I looked at the ingredients, and sure enough, half way down the list was "Castile Soap". Presently, I'm just putting up with it because, after having to send back the first bottle because it had leaked all over the package, I don't really feel like sending it back. As for benefits, after using it for a week, I haven't noticed any so far. Seriously not worth it. Edited: I used this for a month, then gave up. No matter how tightly I seal the jar, it drys out around the edges and if you don't use it for a few days, it drys out in the middle. It is springtime here near Chicago and therefore extremely humid, so it wasn't from having a dry house. Other flavors might be better, but this alone is why I won't purchase it again. It was already too expensive and half my jar went to waste. My gums also became very irritated and receded a bit during the time I used it, can't say for sure it was due to this toothpaste, but I'm not going to risk it again. Not worth it.

This paste makes my teeth feel like I was just at the dentist for a cleaning. Easy to use and tastes great.

We've tried Nelson Natural's hydroxyapatite toothpaste and we like the taste just fine, but this kind (Citrus Spice) is made with a different recipe which includes baking soda, castile soap, and essential oils. It tastes like baking soda with some clove oil in it, we DO NOT like it. It make brushing our teeth unpleasant. Maybe if someone is used to using baking soda on their teeth it would taste good?

It works with whitening very well But it definitely makes a mess of your sink and at time with mirrors above sink when applying and using an electric tooth brush. You have to be very careful. If find it also makes a mess around you mouth. Will be trying a new flavour next time

It's a great product but the salty aftertaste is horrid. Teeth feel like they were polished at the dentist. I just can't get over the saltiness. I'll still use it since I bought two of them lol Purchased the mint 2 days later... 100% better, I'll be sticking with the mint after the citrus is gone.
