Review: If you are willing to spend a weekend or two cleaning and tuning it up, it’s good for the price. - UPDATE: After speaking to Creworks it turns out the gap I'm seeing the carriage is there by design, from my understanding one "way" is for the carriage and the other for the tail stock. So i changed my rating to 5 starts. Sorry some of the images are not great. I am fully aware that with these Chinese type mini lathes, there is always some work needed to get them up and running, from deep cleaning and removing burrs, to various adjustments on the cross-slide/carriage, and adding proper oil and grease. The lathe arrived in about a week and was delivered with no issues, but I will say you definitely need a minimum of two people to move the crate. There was no damage to the packaging and everything inside was intact and stable. Getting the lathe out of the crate was not too difficult, and my overall impression upon inspection was good. There was no damage or scratches to any surfaces, everything was tight, and apart from the thick packing grease, all was clean. Everything that was shown in the product listing was included from the metal gears and spanners, to the extra chuck jaws/key and steady rests. I will say the steady rests are not heavy iron or steel they feel like aluminum or something as they are quite light. Overall, I'm happy with the lathe. I would have given it a full 5 stars, but the carriage not making full contact with the ways (see image) is a quality control issue that worries me a bit, as I’m still figuring out how to fine-tune and fix it. There was also one minor issue with one hole in the chip pan not quite lining up (see image), but that was an easy fix. Another worry was the spindle bore at the back side (see image) the surface finish inside is simply horrible. It doesn't go all the way through the bore, but it's a rough patch that immediately caught my eye.

it comes with tools etc and spares, I have not used lathe for 30 + years, using for small engineering prototypes, comes with small cutting tools. Arrived on time as ordered.
