xcellent All-Around shoe with Great Durability and Style
Best ones I've ever worn. I am extremely impressed with the ALTRA Men's Torin 8. Right out of the box, their appearance is fantastic, and considering the overall build quality, they offer exceptional value for the money. The durability on these shoes is outstanding. They hold up incredibly well over time and miles. What I appreciate most is the balance in the construction; there is absolutely no stiffness, allowing for a very natural and comfortable stride, yet the shoe is remarkably rigid enough to handle some light off-trail use without a problem. They are also wonderfully lightweight on the foot, making long runs feel much easier. It is worth noting for potential buyers that they have a very flat profile, which means there is limited arch support. If you are looking for a flatter shoe that lets your foot move naturally, these are absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!

Definite Plantar Fasciitis Help!
I might be a little hasty on this review because I just put them on for the first time today. I cannot believe how good they feel on my sore and normally hurting plantar fasciitis feet! For the moment at least, they are causing me no pain in the area of the plantar fascia, and the pain in my heels has been greatly mitigated. I've just been wearing them around the house for now, but will gradually begin the process of increasing their wear time in the upcoming days. I really like the roomy toe box and the zero drop from heel to toe. It's going to take a bit before my feet get completely acclimated to a proper shoe, but I am optimistically hoping for the best. Oh, and they look nice too! The fit is far superior, especially with the supported and structured heels than I've experienced in quite a few years now. These seem to be excellent shoes! Wish me luck.

FITS WIDE FOOT W/PADDED ARCH!
Better than expected. Have flat feet and need X-tra wide size. The shoe deside is wide, not a wide size but feels GREAT!! Padded arch a plus. DEFINITELY look to purchase more of these. Light and Comfy and legs feel so much better.

Great, comfortable, roomy toe box
Very comfortable, took a few outings to get them broken in, they were a little more stiff in the toe box area. Best shaped shoes I’ve had, really work well for me. If I could find them in a store I would’ve liked to try them either a half size smaller or not in a wide. I think the shape of the toe box gave me more room than I’ve had in all my other shoes (Brooks & Mizuno) that I’ve always purchased in 2E width. That said, great stable shoe that looks nice as well. Would buy again assuming I can try the different sizes as well.

Mostly comfortable
I'm not a runner, but was recommended these because I do a lot of walking on road/sidewalk. Fit: Runs true to size. The company recommends to size up, especially since I wear a half size. While I do find them comfortable and not a bad fit, I think my true size would probably have been a bit better. Unfortunately, they don't come in that size, but these work well enough for me as is. Plenty of toe room, which was the biggest draw for these. Build: They're lightweight and springy, but not overly cushioned. I've been wearing them daily for months now and they have yet to scuff or show any significant signs of wear, so they seem plenty durable. They make it very easy to run, even for someone like me who usually sticks to a brisk walking pace. Feel: Generally quite comfortable, but took some getting used to as the shape and thickness of the sole gives them a mild rocker effect. You will definitely get your workout walking or running in these. They don't dig in around the ankles, but I do still find myself getting blisters on the outsides of my toes after a long time on the road. No issues standing all day at work, though. Overall, these are good quality, but a bit pricey. A great choice if you're doing shorter-distance runs. Even as someone who uses them mostly as a daily casual wear shoe, they've been pretty good for me, though not perfect. Good for being on my feet all day, but for my longer walks, I may keep looking for something with a little less height and a little more cushion.

Great shoes, reordered because they are good
Love the wide toe box and the zero rise. I like to alternate shoes each day, so I have purchased 4 pairs over the past several years - have worn out my first pair, but they lasted and lasted before being retired and ordering 2 more. I got my money's worth out of these. I do look for sales and jump on them when on sale.

Excellent Shoe - Too Bad Amazon Doesn’t Follow Their Own Return Policy
The shoe itself warrants 5 stars but I’m deducting 2 stars due to Amazon not following their own return policy which states “Most items can be returned for a refund or replacement/exchange within 30 days of delivery as long as they are in original or unused condition.” The shoes were obviously worn outside as the bottom and back of the soles were dirty, one shoe actually had a rock still in the sole. As far as the shoe goes the Torin 8’s are my favorite. I don’t run but walk and I’ve been wearing this style going on a year and a half after moving on from Hokas. I love the wide toe box and the zero drop. There’s enough cushion to keep my feet feeling fine after being on them all day. My wife and I did two guided tours in Europe last year that involved a lot of walking, I had no blisters, there was no break-in period, and no sore feet at the end of the day. Hopefully when the 8’s are no longer available the new Torin 9’s will be just as comfortable.

Completely redesigned shoe
9/10, -1 for a bit of a longer break in period than previous version TL;DR The shoe is completely redesigned without understatement, they still feel very good for running or daily work wear but almost everything has changed about the previous version. Changes: 1. The shoe is mostly made of more mesh padding that is very airy, i noticed it immediately upon wearing the shoe when i went for a walk with a slight breeze and could feel it on my toes. 2. The heel is more rigid than soft which for some might throw them off at first especially when breaking in the shoe. It is also narrower and has a better heel cup feel. It feels better for running as it is a more secure heel than before, but very rigid. I feel it’s a good change as the previous version heels are tearing on mine which prompted the purchase. 3. The tongue is more padded than previous version, this gives the top of your feet better feel as you bring your foot up in stride as previously you may have felt the laces more as it was very thin 4. Better ground feel. The shoe is known for feeling pretty close to the ground with the zero drop and I appreciate it as it makes me feel like a more natural run than overly cushioned, but it is still a soft landing on every foot strike with what looks like more of the ergo foam 5. Changed all of the locations of the reflective stripes which may be off putting for early morning or late night runners for safety, I’m not sure why the reflective laces and heel reflection were changed for more reflection in the front but the design does not change anything for me 6. General logo placement and size changes. Not a problem as it doesn’t affect your run but could be a swag difference for those shoe enthusiasts who care. It was very odd to see them completely redesigned like this as most other companies would only change maybe one or two things for the next version, but I love running in Torins and they feel great all day for working on my feet. Great purchase and would buy again.

Für breite Füße toll
Ich habe realtiv breite Füße und häufig Probleme beim laufen gehabt. Das ist mit den Altra nicht mehr der Fall. Die Zehenbox ist breiter als bei anderen Schuhen und das merkt man.

Perfect balance of cushion and natural movement
Love the updates on the Torin 8. The zero-drop platform feels very stable, and the lockdown is much improved over previous versions. The foam provides excellent energy return without feeling too "mushy" on the road. If you're looking for a natural-shaped running shoe that can handle high mileage, this is it.

Great road running shoe
Great value for a great running shoe. Wide but nice and compact. I always buy Altra for running and these have a bit of bounce even with zero drop. I’d buy these again if any are still around when my new ones wear out 10/10
